    Totally trying this.
Although I'm cooking for one...I guess it will just be a week's worth of meals for me.

Dinner and lunch! I could eat this every day!

looks fantastic.....will be getting my slow cooker out now the weather is turning cooler..

can i just ask, whats a broiler ????

A broiler is in the oven.. when you turn the broiler on, the heat comes from the top and sears/browns whatever you put in there. This just makes the skin crisp. But, it's still good if you don't do it.

I do this all the time. After we're done eating the chicken, I take all the bones and leftover veggies, toss them back in the crockpot, cover with water, let cook another 8 hours on low, and strain for awesome homemade stock. Yum!

I keep meaning to do this and always forget! :grumble:

If you don't want to take time to add all the spices and vegetables and just throw the whole chicken in the crock pot it comes out juicey & delicious.:flowerforyou:

I do this too :) At least every other week.

BUMP. I make whole chicken in the crockpot, but don't use those exact seasonings. Will have to give this a try.

  • Going to freezer now to get out whole chicken to thaw out!! Gonna try this recipe tomorrow - sounds absolutely fabulous!

The beauty of slow cookers is you don't need to thaw the meat! Just put it in frozen and add an extra hour or two. When I use frozen chicken pieces instead of thawed, I go for 10-12 hours instead of 8-10.

  • To cut down on the fat, you can remove the skin before you cook it.
