    I do hear they are accepting applications for the trip to Mars.... however one way trip only ... as they have not figured out if they can return people once they arrive...

    I was fascinating reading that but I really would not want to live out my life there... if it was a little week trip or something that would be ok... but apparently 6-8 months to arrive there ... stuck in a capsule... forget it !!!

    i recently went to the 'beyond planet earth' exhibit at the museum of natural history and there was this whole segment on changing the whole atmosphere of mars to be more like earth if we ever needed a 'back up plan' so to speak, and how it would look over the course of hundreds-thousands of years. it was really fascinating. also they had a replica of curiosity (the rover) and i felt like i was meeting a celebrity. i got all teary eyed and took a picture with it and everything :).

    I love hearing everyone's travel destination dreams...

    can't wait to read more...

    I am going to grab some dinner and hope to read more incentive travelling ideas when I get back...

    I wish I could travel non stop ... however it does require more than dreaming... bit budget planning ... but life is too short not to travel to at least one place on your list !!!!

    I have traveled a lot, but there are still so many places I want to visit. Top of my list are:
    Everest Base Camp (I've been to Nepal, but trekked the Anapurna range and loved it so much I want to go back for the big guy!)
    Argentina
    Chile
    Costa Rica
    Belize
    New Zealand
    Tahitian Islands
    Russia (I want to take the Trans-Siberian railroad and hike around Lake Bakal)

    Most days I just want to sell all my stuff and travel. Sigh.

    I'd love to go somewhere like Mauritius or the Seychelles. I'd also like to go to Brazil and Australia.

    I'm English, so travelling to Europe is pretty easy for me. I've been to:
    France ( millions of times and I lived there for a year as part of my degree)
    Italy
    Holland
    Switzerland
    Germany
    Belgium (although just driving through on the way to Germany)
    Greece (Rhodes)
    Cuba (my honeymoon)
    USA (San Fran, LA, Vegas)

    I live in Canada and parts of the US close to the border.

    No where really I haven't been that I want to go,
    I would go back to Hawaii, Phoenix, Palm Springs and Newcastle/ Manchester in a heart beat.

    I love the ocean, and I have 2 places I have to visit before I die.

    * Sea kayaking/camping on a multi-day trip off the Washington coast around the San Juan Islands with the orcas

    * Sea kayaking off the coast of Ireland - I hear there is a famous kayaking spot with beautiful water, and if you kayak there at night, there are bio-luminescent phyto-plankton and the sea *glows*

    Ireland... it just looks beautiful and I love the irish heritage. (I am part irish myself)


    Las vegas, NV.... I used to live there when I was younger (for 7 years) but i haven't been back in a really long time and I'd love to go visit my old best friend, and some family that's out there.


    I'd also like to go to Amsterdam....for obvious reasons. ;)

    Jackie. welcome anytime !!!! ... you have certainly been around the world I see... and in Quebec City there is also an ice hotel... but in Quebec its always cold.. they have a complete carnival in February just because of the weather lol ...
