EAT!!!!!!!!!!!!

 Hmm an idea for us all...technically we are suppose to be eating what MFP has for our calorie goals, right? They calculate the calories based on what you SHOULD be eating WITHOUT exercise to make your weight loss goals. And then if you exercise, you can eat more, right? Hmm - This means that our net calories should be what our daily goal is. So if everyday, we are completing our diaries and under our calorie goals, we are not giving our bodies the proper nutrition and calories it needs to be fueled. Its common sense but not all of us have that (including me). I would eat 1800 calories but burn 1000..no wonder I am at a plateau. My body is starving! We get so lost in trying to lose weight we forget about trying to stay healthy and be strong. Let's fuel our bodies and eat right. If you have not experienced the plateau yet, you will if your workouts are vigourous and your caloric intake is little. Now, if your under your calorie intake...fine, but you should make sure your net calories are at least 1200, as MFP and experts suggest, 1200 is the LEAST amount of cals you should be eating. I love this topic!
I think sometimes we all need to remember food is not the enemy; it's eating food that isn't real food in excess that's the enemy. Or eating food for the wrong reasons.

Nothing wrong with a good healthy feast to fuel up for all the hard work you're doing!

Ugh. This one is so hard for me! I am trying to make sure I atleast get the 1200. But I'm so scared of going over (current goal is 1820) that I wait until the end of the day and see that I haven't eaten enough!

But its bad to eat before bedtime, right? So whats the lesser of two evils?

I'm working on the mental hesitation and I'm making some healther choices but 1800+ is a lot of food. lol

i agree but your body needs it...so lets say you just cant make it to 1800 but you can to 1500...just makesure all your foods are cleaned and unprocessed.

You might want to plan ahead on how to spread out your calories in my meals nd snack, I try to do that in the morning, and include the calories burnt on the exercises that I'm doing. Usually I plan 80-90% of my meals, allowing a little allowances just in case something crops up in the middle of the day for that extra 100-200 calories,

Ok so I have the same problem with trying to eat back the calories I burn through exercise. My goal is 1200 and I usually am between 1150 to 1200 before I excersie but since I exercise at night, because that's the only time I can, I don't get hungry at all after the workout. And I tried to add extra calories to my meals and snacks but I usually can't eat them anyways. Any one have any ideas on what I can do??

I always have a bedtime snack. I think that calories are calories whether you eat them at noon or at 10 pm. You still have to burn the same amount of calories.

It's okay to eat late at night, I promise. Grab an after-dinner snack as long as you have the calories left for it!

I think it's more important to eat good healthy quality food than to worry if you are two hundred ( for instance) calories short of your goal before bedtime. Perhaps you will eat a bigger breakfast the following day or perhaps over a week your calories will average out.

Some days you will take in more calories, some days less most likely. But trying to stuff an unwanted snack in your body just before bed sounds uncomfortable and counter-productive.

What worked for me is manually setting my calories using TDEE minus deficit. That way I don't worry about exercise calories, they are already accounted for in my goal intake. This meas some days my calories are all net and other days I net close to RMR. In the end though it all works out to a 10-15% deficit for the week.
