Join The FCC: The Flexibility and/or Cardio Challenge!
It's all up to you! Choose which type of Flexibility and/or Cardio you would like to complete for a 5 week time period. You have options:
1) If you finish one Cardio Challenge early, you can choose another!
2) If you want to do more than one Cardio Challenge at a time then BRING IT*
3) If you find that you are not strong in the area of Flexibility, you might want to either focus solely on that
4) If you want add an element of balance to your experience aim to do One (1) Cardio Challenge and the Flexibility Challenge
(*People are more successful when they focus on one goal at a time)
**Choose from:
900 minutes of Flexibility (ONE or combination of the following):
Yoga
Pilates
Tai Chi
Stretching
Foam Rolling
AND/OR
Cardio:
Running/Walking: 75 miles
Cycling: 150 miles
Rowing: 75,000 meters
Swimming: 700 lengths
Elliptical: 100 miles
**The whole point of this board is to give you something to shoot for, hold you accountable to your goals AND to get your out of your comfort zone. You are stronger than you think.
MFPs If you are game, COMMIT by posting choice(s) of flexibility and/or cardio. REPORT WEEKLY your distances and time to the forum OR as they are accomplished.
Each Challenge runs for 5 Weeks:
* When you REPLY to the Thread "YOU'RE IN" THAT'S YOUR Start Date
* You have exactly 5 weeks from your start date you complete your INTENDED GOAL
- CALCULATE and POST your Official deadline date to the Thread
- Your GOAL is to be completed by 11:59 p.m. of your deadline date, but you can post your results afterwards
*REPORT WEEKLY your distances and/or times to the forum OR as they are accomplished.
Registration runs: ONGOING (but YOU DO NOT get to "make up" the time lost once you have STARTED)
StayFITTer's Goal: Running 75 miles and 900 Minutes of Yoga and Foam Rolling by Saturday, October 20th 11:39 p.m. EST

In April, I presented a "Choose Your Own Cardio Challenge variation to the MFP community. It was successful, but as soon as the Challenge was over in May, we all went our separate ways.
Recently, A fellow MFP asked me to start another one again to hold her accountable to her half marathon running goals.
I'm hoping this time around we can keep the momentum going and do this on a continual basis.
I've added a twist by adding Flexibility since is it the red-headed, stepchild of the fitness world, but it is very much an important component of fitness. We are good at making time to BEAT ourselves into a pulp, but not to stretch and elongate our muscles. With that said..... JOIN THE FCC!0 -

I've been slacking in the Flexibility Department. My Running has been slow as well.
I completed a 10.5 mile run on Saturday, September 22nd and 0 minutes of formal focused "stretching". That means I got to put it in my calendar and stop being in a rush.
58.5 miles to go by October 20th...a.k.a. the day before my FULL Marathon YIKES!
I'll be sure to re-up for the Challenge by then so I can take advantage of those miles LOL0 -
