I think raw soybeans (that you then cook...not eaten raw) are a great food.
Everything else is a bastardization of their health benefits.

Too much soy gives me bad stomach cramps. They mimic the symptoms of lactose intolerance, which is what I thought it was at first, but apparently it is soy. It's in a lot of things, and I can handle it in small amounts, but anything soy-based (like soy milk or soy burgers) are painful.
As such, I stay away from it. I think, like most things, though, it has its health benefits and "dangers."0 -
