Just getting these feelings out....

for my own personal motivation.
I am so sick of being so motivated one day and doing great, then completely sabotaging the next. And it is all because I get bored. Not even hungry, just bored!! And the snacks I eat are not even that unhealthy, they just add calories that keep me from looking the way I want to.
Well this is it. No more excuses as to why I cannot keep myself motivated. Starting today there is no going back. I will not stop until I reach my goal of 115 pounds (I am currently around 121-122). 1200 calories a day is more than enough to keep me full as long as I put them towards the correct foods and time of day. No more pointless snacking. No more feeling down because I ruined a perfectly good day. No more being lazy instead of working out. I WILL exercise 4 -5 times per week and burn 400-500 calories each time.
I am going to stick to this. I know I can. And I know how happy I will be once I get results. I can do this.
Who is with me??

As Yoda once said, " There is no try. There is do or do not". Words of wisdom.0

It's life, darlin! You have come a long way - keep that momentum going! One day at at time.0

Every day is a brand spanking shiny new day - When I have a day where the diary just about collapses because I went so far over my limits - I just log every thing foreget about it and patiently wait till the next day when it resets and I get to try again - when we put the weight on it didnt all go on in one day so we cant expect it to come off in one day.
Keep working at it and you'll get there!0 -
Let me see if I understand. Your going to eat 1200 cals, burn 500 cals for a net of 700 cals to reach an arbitrary number on the scale because that number when reached will make you happy?
Stop worrying about the scale. If your not happy now, you wont be miraculously happy 5 lbs less.0 -

This 100 percent. You won't be any happier 5 pounds lighter. It honestly won't make a huge difference, especially in your confidence. 1200 probably ISNT enough especially with exercise, which is why you're "snacking pointlessly"0 -

I'm totally with you!0 -
I know this is going to sound "wrong", but you sound a little crazy/obsessed.0

Although I agree with everyone that five pounds won't make you happy, I don't think you were saying that you're unhappy or depressed and expect to be a brand new person when you weigh 115. I think you were saying you're not happy with eating out of boredom and you want the satisfaction of reaching the goal. Let's not put words in her mouth, people.
In related news, when I get bored, I scan fitness boards on Pinterest. That usually motivates me.0 -

If you're eating that little and working out that much, that thing you think is boredom is probably hunger. In the long run, you're probably better off losing more slowly now so that you adapt to maintenance better.0

I wish I was upset because I weighed 121 pounds and wanted to weigh 115 pounds, hmm ok maybe that would be a bit too thin for me...I wish I was upset because I weighed 190 pounds and wanted to weigh 185 pounds.
Amazing how one persons disappointment is beyond another's goals.0 -
I'm just here to watch the fireworks between my two favorite extremes of MFP.
(OP, best of luck to you in your pursuits (be it achievement of some number goal or a realization of a different goal). Others who are currently further from your own goals right now, just walk away. Nothing in here is going to help you make your own progress.)0 -
I have the same problem - mainly at work. When I'm at home, I keep myself busy and only eat when I'm actually hungry. But it sounds like you might actually, really be hungry. In that case, it wouldn't be mindless eating. Anyways, here's what I do to combat "mindless" eating
-plan my snacks for the day & only bring that (for example, I don't bring the whole box of crackers, just pack 1 serving)
-try water first if I think I may not actually be hungry but eating out of boredom. Sometimes the water makes me feel full
-make sure my snacks are low calorie, because I know I will want those extra calories later for dinner.
-chew gum
Granted, this is all results in me being at a healthy calorie goal, not a net of 700.0 -
You look perfect. I'm not sure why you feel the need to drop 5 lbs.0

I completely get what you're talking about. I don't have a great deal of weight to lose and I don't think I'm fat, but I too eat out of complete boredom, mostly at the weekends. I'll be good all week, exercise well and then it all goes wrong Friday to Sunday.
It's really annoying because it undoes all the good work from the week and you feel rubbish for over eating the next day.
Totally get it! I'm with you! X0 -
I want to clear things up. I am not "obsessed" or crazy as some of you seem to think. I am simply unhappy with the way I look. I know I am not fat and I do not think I am but I want to drop a little weight, and there is nothing wrong with that. I am not starving myself. I have already come a long way and am trying to lose the last 5 pounds to get to my goal weight. Why do so many people have a problem with that? I am simply trying to change my habits that have been bad the past couple of weeks and to get back in shape because I haven't worked out in a while. Everyone here has the same goals, to be happier with themselves, I am the same way.0
