But seriously, it would be awesome if MFP forums had a section that listed the titles of the nuked threads, the reason for the nuking (which rule(s) broken), the mod that carried out the sentence, etc. Would give some continuity to a remarkably disjointed forum...and something that really bugs me for some reason. (That, and I lose some of my best stuff in nuked threads.)

Of course, it would also be awesome if you could "subscribe" to threads for notification on future activity, a ridiculously common feature on other boards that we still don't have here, so I guess I'll just put it on the wishlist.

oh you CAN'T find it, can you? it must be HIDDEN somewhere from your view... in that secret hidden thread section they always keep on these sites. There's NO WAY, it's been deleted, is there?

I can't imagine any mod would have deleted that thread. I mean, it was full of nothing but good clean totally-by-the-rules fun. It isn't like the MFP forum rules are ever broadly interpreted such that just about any thread ever posted (in Chit-Chat) and be found in violation.

That's crazy-talk. So it *must* just be that my search skills are inadequate. It's the only logical explanation.

Ok. I laughed at this. I did!

I apparently have far more faith in the reasonableness of our MFP mods than some of you people do.

And I find your lack of faith... disturbing .

I find your reckless use of the bold feature disturbing...

What you call reckless, I call generous, yet appropriate.

I've often wondered why this feature isn't available. It would result in a much better exchange of ideas.

I have a theory about this.

To follow a discussion on a forum thread now, you leave a tab open and refresh it...often. These open tabs that you are refreshing create page hits...on advertisements.

Is this actually why? I have no idea...but it seems reasonable to me. It may also explain why certain threads are so quick to disappear...because if new people could be directed to a recurring thread, they wouldn't need to start the same topic...over...and over... and over again. This drives more page hits.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to adjust my tinfoil hat. I think the governments...(all of them)...are following me.
