Nope... Veggies are 'slow Carbs' Slow carbs have a low glycemic (sp?) index... they are the 'good carbs"0

my diet is mainly fruit and vegetables, when i enter my daily foods on the food diary it says there is a lot of carbs in the veg. is this going to slow down my weight loss?
I think you might have a skewed sense of how many carbs is "a lot." I used to eat about 400-700 grams per day. That's a LOT. Now I eat closer to 200 grams per day and stay in my calorie goal and I'm losing 2 pounds per week.
ETA: This was on TOP of my proteins and fats, so close to 4000 calories on average.0 -

Oatmeal - mostly carbs
Peanut Butter - mostly fat
Brown rice - mostly carb
broccoli - Mostly carb
Almond Milk - almost all carb (1 protein per serving?)
Unless you are trying to eat very little protein or a ton of calories in carbs these are poor choices0 -

They are not poor choices. There are foods higher in protein which would make them a better source of protein, if protein is all you are looking for. But the foods above contain protein along with many other healthy nutrients.0 -

They have less protein per calorie than other more pur protein sources. If you have the calories available, it's fine to get protein from those sources -- any source really. If you're looking for a low calorie way to get protein, those aren't the best option.0 -

I'll say it again. If you are meeting your protein goal (and that goal is a sufficient amount of protein), it does not matter where that protein comes from. Eat a variety of foods, eat what you like, and fvck the rest. If you don't eat meat, then soy products are a good source of protein. If you don't eat meat, then beans and whole grains are a good source of protein. Even if you do eat meat, they still contain protein. It still adds to your daily goal.0

Yes, there is enough protein in the food that vegans eat. Most people who are not vegan are quick to point out that there is no way you can be vegan and get enough protein, but it's simply not true. I get enough protein. Elephants and gorillas eat almost exclusively plant based diets, and they seem okay to me also...0 -

haha! I'm a vegetarian and they're also where I get my main sources of protein, in addition to whole grains and eggs.0
