Any ideas for meals with little to no sugar?

I'm having trouble with my sugar intake lately (or maybe forever). I didn't really notice it until I started tracking it, but I'm over on sugar almost every day and pretty stable with everything else. Some of that is fruit, I do eat a lot more fruit as snacks than I do veggies (maybe I should switch that up?) and some of it is my love for coffee drinks and chocolate. Any one have any good recipes (around 400 calories) that have hardly any (or no) sugar?

Thanks!

When it comes to dinner ideas, keep it along the lines with a protein and green veggies and leave the bread and pastas alone, except every now and then. I normally fix some type of meat, like chicken, fish, turkey, some red, lean meat. If you consume a lot of fruit, you may want to consider the source and also cut back. Apples, blueberries, strawberries, watermelon, are all good sources. However, bananas are high in sugar so I don't consume many of those. Take a look at your carbs too. A lot of breads, cereals, spreads, ect have added sugar in them. I consume most of my carbs in the morning, or before 12 pm and they are from whole grain sources. I hope this helps some! :)

I'm a sugaraholic and my mother is a diabetic. So I've looked my future in the face and was terrified. I started eliminating as much sugar as I can. I scramble egg whites with hot sauce and occasionally steamed spinach or black beans for breakfast. I've found that if I'm full, I'm less likely to crave sugar. I'll double up on steamed broccoli and steamed brussel sprouts for lunch with a salad or grilled chicken tenders (with lemon juice and worchestershire). Dinner is grilled fish or chicken and more vegetables. My new cheat treat is the 100 calorie pack granola with chocolate. Pump up the spices and don't leave your self hungry!

Oatmeal is great for breakfasts or eggs which you can even have with cheese :) Peanut butter, hummus, low fat Greek yogurt, cranberries & avocado are low also. Be careful with 'switching to veggies' some of them - like carrots & corn are pretty high. Greens, sprouts, crucifers are all good and can be used as side dishes or snacks.

For meals..just combine things..Pepper Steak, Fish Florentine, Cajun Chicken. Lots of possibilities..
