I have 100+ lbs to go but once all is said and done, I would like to compete and FINISH a Tough Mudder or other similar obstacle course. Also, considering another tattoo but that's not in stone. What is or was your "I DID IT!" prize/event/confirmation.. whatever!

Who knows when I will get to my goal but I am graduating university next June so I hope by then to not only be happy of my accomplishments academically but also physically - I'm planning a trip to Disney World right before my ceremony so right now that is what is keeping me motivated as my prize.

I'm setting mini-goals for myself. 10 pounds, then prize!! In no particular order:

    1) Polaris Heart Rate Monitor, so I don't have to guess how many calories I'm burning when I run or workout
    2) A cute pair of Skechers "Shape Ups" to keep the calories burning and the bum lifting
    3) The cutest set of bowls I saw a Kohl's...They match my current place setting, but they are smaller to help me reduce portion size when I eat

When I reach the big goal, I'm treating myself to a night out with the Avengers guys...Thor, Loki, Iron Man, Human Torch...and if they're not available, maybe just a night on the town.

I'm thinking about Lasik as my ultimate prize for reaching my goal. My sisters want me to come to Paris with them next year, so that keeps me motivated and thinking that could be the prize!

I haven't really thought about a goal for when I get to my desired weight. Sadly, I usually do food related short term goals. Right now I'm looking at chicken and waffles from the best restaurant when I get below 200, which will be in a couple pounds. Maybe I should be looking at non-food related goals, but I don't really do big cheat meals so these are well deserved.

I want to hike the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu in Peru. For me it is less about losing weight as it is just being healthy and physically fit.

Was thinking about a belly button piercing but it will probably depend on how tummy looks after I lose the weight. Not gonna pierce a part that I don't think is attractive!
  • I'm just coming up to the end of my first week so I haven't really thought about it yet, I'm thinking some mini goals might be in order though....
Starting weight is 205.92lbs that's 93.6kgs, I will have to ponder this some more, though I know a new wardrobe will be needed when I reach my overall goal
  • Biking has been a major ways I've reduced my weight by 38 pounds since July 1st. I told my wife I wanted to buy a $2,000.00+ Cannondale when I reached my goal of 75 pounds off. I then found a bike that matched up well with the bike I was interested in, for only $900.00, on sale for $525.00, we bought two for ourselves and have increased our bike riding and weight loss.

We do have a vow to get bathing suit body ready by June when we make our way to Disney World for a week. So the bikes were for our halfway mark and Micky for getting all the way.

A breast reduction and liposuction by the time I'm 40. If I can't burn it all off myself - I've got a little more then 3 years before I turn 40.

The first 'I DID IT" prize for myself was the first evening I signed onto here and it was at the end of the day I decided to join ... added in my calories and what I could remember that I ate during the day, because I did not find this site til later that first evening... so I put down all the food I could remember I ate... was shocked I was over 600 calories... it was that night ... everything clicked for me.. I knew I was going to go on the right path this time and do this properly

so my first "I DID IT " goal was that very first night I signed up ... I gave that gift to myself, the gift of better health and you cannot purchase anything better than that... in doing so, many gifts have come my way in the form of wonderful friendships that I have found on here, a great support system and an understanding that we all have our own stories for why we are here, but thankfully we are all here to help one another and be there for each other

MFP has been such an inspiration for me ... :) Diane
