BMR and Calorie Intake!

Hi guys! So I'm a little confused.. I used several sites to calculate my BMR and everything was in the ballpark of around 1500 calories. If I want to create a deficit to lose weight, I read that I need to deduct 500 cals from my BMR and that should be my target calorie intake, but if i do that then the intake will only be 1,000 and that's obviously so low lol. What do I do?!

You need to take a deficit from your TDEE...
Your BMR is your basal metabolic rate, the rate to which you would be fed if you got into a coma to sustain your organs..0 -
Ah! See, all this misinformation has me confused and overwhelmed lol. My TDEE is around 2000, so I'd target 1500?0

This seems wrong. Are you sure you didn't accidentally use bmr? 1057 seems too low.0
