So one of the guys I work with made a post on face book that went something like this...to all guys with trucks, lift kit, so fat chicks can't jump in it. .... Because I'm a guy. Now generally he is a pretty nice guy and I have no problems with him. But for some reason today this statement just kind of irritated me...To each his own I suppose but there is definately no reason to be mean.

    Wow. Definitely mean/rude. That falls into the "Have your opinions, but keep them to yourself" category.

I wouldn't take too much offense, unless YOU know HE knew what he was saying would hurt you, but that is a whole lot of overthinking - just let it go. Put up a jokey retaliation about guys who overcompensate for small issues by buying big trucks, big lift kits, and big man toys :P Keep it vague so he doesn't get all touchy and emotional :laugh:

    I thought it was supposed to be: No fat chicks or truck will scrape the ground...

    Seriously, though, I tend to take things way to literally and personally and so that's one of the reasons that I gave up on facebook. I get on there for about 15 minutes about every month or so to see if I have any messages or whatever and that's it. It's really rather refreshing to do without.

    what i dont get here is he does not mention anyone. if it was a personal attack ok but its not.
    The only problem is coming from your own personal issues. If he said.

    Remember to raise your trucks to keep midgets out. You would have skimmed it or had a chuckle. People project like this to avoid dealing with their own issues. Ive done it,so has everyone else. The only people who will agree are other people with problems they dont want to deal with.Hell google thin privalages or fat acceptance. Its all im obese but its not my fault.

    Really all I was doing was venting. I didn't take it personally just thought the statement was rather crude but apparently now I am too sensitive. Damned if I do and damned if I don't.

    Really? Because if someone said that I'd find it pretty offensive to little people. Things don't cease to be offensive just because I'm not in the targeted group. If you're posting something for general consumption, it's not ok.

    I was going to ask the same thing. It's not like he said your name specifically, did he? Even if he meant every word he typed, it's his prerogative, his preference. It would be no different than someone saying they have a specific type of person they are attracted to. He happens to not find heavier women attractive, and made a joke about it. I really do think you're being over sensitive about it.

    Not really offensive... just crude and not really that funny, kind of stupid.
