Too few calories?

Is it possible that I am eating not enough calories? I am at a plateau for several weeks. My company just had a health fair and it stated that based on my height, weight and exercise level I should be eating 2597 calories. I have been netting my 1200 calories after eating exercise calories. I don't want to start eating a 1000 more calories and then gain weight? Any insight?

Increase your calories by a few hundred especially on days you're hungry. I recommend starting at about 1500. I'm 5'2, 113 pounds with a BMR of 1330 and a TDEE of 1560 cals & a fairly petite girl and I can easily eat 1500 especially on days I work out, I'm pretty sure you should be able to reach this goal! For the record I stopped losing at 1200 upped toe 1350 and started losing again!
I also almost always eat back my exercise calories which means there are some days I eat 2000 calories, my nets are of course lower but if I'm hungry I eat especially on an exercise day0 -
You should be eating what MFP has you set for. You're already at a deficit to lose weight with just those calories. On top of that you should eat your exercise calories. I'm guilty of not eating back all of my exercise calories, but I factor in uneven measuring of foods since I'm eyeballing the measurements. I hit a plateau during August, but broke through it by eating more for a day or 2 and increasing my workout. Hope that helps. I'm sure others can explain it better, but that is my understanding of how it works0

I am having problems eating the minimum amount of calories eat day that have been recommended. The target was set at 1200. Not to say adding the calories added for exercises. I gained 12 pounds in the last six months that I am trying to lose to get back where I was. I am at a healthy weight according to my doctor, but just felt better 12 pounds lighter. I only started on here about 10 days ago and love being able to track my exercise and diet each day. Actually thought I was eating more than what I am.. First week I lost 3 pounds but put back on one according to the scale today. any suggestions?0

Not enough information. Your diary is closed and you have given no information on yourself0

I had my doctor set my calorie goal.
If you set your mind to it, you can accomplish anything.....

I have been running 3-5 days a week since April. I have added in Crossfit 2-3 days a week and I have gained 15 Ibs which is the opposite of what I wanted to happen. I have not had a soda in months. I am constantly drinking water and try to keep my calories down. I don't understand why I'm not losing! Before I started all this my weight fluctuated 5 Ibs every few days. Now I can't get it to move a pound or 2 but always on the up side.
I'm 5'2 and at 105 I would still be at a healthy weight, MY GOAL!!! Now I'm at 128-129.
