I like seeing what foods I go "over" in. But is going over in fiber REALLY an issue as long as it's digesting well?

Ditto ^^^, as long as it isn't a problem for you. I seem to do fine with more fiber, my husband however, was getting stomach aches. He had daily stomach aches a couple of years ago until I started calculating his fiber intake. We scaled it back and he's been fine ever since.

This article has some really good info. I always try to eat around 25-35g a day; this says about 14g per 1000cals a day, so I'm not too far off
The bad side being, if you are reallllly eating too much fiber, it could hinder the absorption of minerals. Very interesting.

The only problem I know really with fiber is taking in to much that your digestive system isn't used to which will cause stomach aches but once it get used to it you will lose weight faster and It will cause you to take more number 2's lol. Also make sure you do not exercise on a fiber overload I would say no fiber one in the morning for breakfast because trust me I tried to do insanity during 4 pm and I was in so much pain it was crazy it felt like I had two bags of family doritos in my stomach mixed with soap..0

I think it's there more for you to aim for reaching that amount than about going over. Just remember that in order for fiber to keep your digestive system happy, it needs LOTS of liquid. So...hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. (Plus, it just feels good to bump that number higher and higher for water each day!)0 -
I'm always over on my fiber. I switched to whole grain breads and I say thats what does it for me. Honestly... I love it. Before I started eating better I had bathroom troubles. No problems now!0

I (and many others) look at the fibre goal as a minimum, not a number to stay under. Fibre from whole grains, fruits and veggies - all good for the body, and keep things 'moving'. There are certain types of fibre (and I can't remember which, sorry!) that help flush out bad cholesterol, as well.0

I know i doctor told me once that I was getting enough, maybe too much fiber after several tummy aches. He says the bulk of the fiber is good, but you need to walk (have some sort of exercise) and plenty of water for it to work correctly.0
