Hi

I have yesterday had by BMI measured and it is 44. I am 13stone 12lb and 175cm tall. My waist is 38 inch and hips are 40. Does my BMI seem right. Have looked on charts and they say it should be 28. I am really confused and could do with some advice please.

I got about 28 (with a rough and ready cm -> feet conversion). How did you have it measured to get 44? BMI is purely a calculation based on height and weight.

Is it possible you had your body fat percentage measured? That could potentially be 44%, even if your BMI is 28.

    You can't measure a BMI

I know, that was the wording OP used, which made me wonder if it was body fat % instead.

I know, I was emphasising your point.
  • Thanks for the replies. It's just made me realise that it WAS having my body fat measured. I just panicked!
