I recommend working out your TDEE for a regular day where you will not workout, set MFP to whatever deficit you want below the calculated TDEE and eat back all your exercise calories....Win!0

I just want to chime in on my personal experience, seeing as I've been on here about 2 years.
The first few months on MFPI ate 1300 calories, lost about 50lbs and then 7 months in, plateaued hard. For about 4 months I didn't lose anything and noticed my weight creeping back on.
Using the Scooby TDEE/BMR calorie calculator, I saw that I should be eating around 2000 a day. So after 20lbs gained back and a new start to this weight loss thing and I am FINALLY losing again. I had to eat my TDEE (2500) for a couple weeks to reset, I felt bloated and fat but after letting my body adjust, I feel amazing... and I'm feeling 'skinny' again.
MFP's original settings were starving me!0
