What Is the most you've gained after a cheat day?

And how long did it take to lose it?
Had my first cheat day this week, 3 days later I still weigh a little over 5 pounds more than I did before my cheat day.
I know, I know. .....it should come off plus some by the end of the week. I'm accepting that on faith at this point. Lol
Been right back on track, nothing but water, keeping right on or just under my calories and working out.
And waiting. ...lol

Usually 2 pounds and it was gone in 2 days0

Nothing. I've had TEMPORARY gains- from sodium bloat, extra food in my digestive tract, and water stored with extra glycogen (carb loading) but never gained any actual weight from a single day. And on my birthday, I at 5300 calories (3500 over) of cake and fried food. It's really hard to gain weight from one day. This process is about a long term trend of deficit. Instantaneous spikes don't matter in the big picture if you don't do it often, except for giving you a nice leptin boost.0

Good question...I have wondered the same thing!!0

7 pounds, but my "cheat day" (I don't call it that) closes in on 5000 calories. Usually it's a Sunday, and by Friday I've lost all the weight and have lost another one or two pounds right on schedule. Don't worry about it; it's just water that the additional food will let you store. Ignore it and don't stray from your normal routine.0

it takes an additional 3500 calories to gain a pound a fat and i DOUBT you ate more than 5 x 3500 calories than you normally did. it's just water and undigested food, don't starve yourself or your body will start to store more fat because of "starvation" or "survival" mode. or you could binge and make it worse. don't let it get you down or beat yourself up about it. just get back on track. hit the gym for a bit extra if it helps your peace of mind, that's what i do after a "cheat" day0

I dunno, like 10 lbs? I dunno, like 10 days?0

Kind of related.
I was really hungover after a... cheat night? And couldn't keep anything...including water... in me... and I lost 7 lb. Gained it back the next day though. Still fun to know how much I weigh when I'm running on E.0 -

7lbs and then I feel horrible, as in stomach flu-like symptoms afterwards (not on purpose; don't want anyone to get the wrong idea). My mom (yes, i'm in my thirties and still listen to my mom :-)) says its because my body's rejecting all the crap. My mom's not a dietician, but I feel that she might be right as it's certainly the way my body responds. I've often wondered if this happens to anyone else?0

I think it was 4 pounds...but it came off after about 3-4 days... In fact, after events where I eat larger quantities than my norm, the following week I tend to loose the "weight" I added plus a few ounces to 2 pounds... Never a long term issue...0

I either don't gain or I lose. The cheat meal doesn't have to make you gain weight. It's simple calories in/calories out still. The trick is to schedule your cheat day like this:
-eat a little bit less all week and/or
-fast the day before the cheat day and/or
-fast after the cheat day
either way, your net calories for the week will still be on target. I usually do a good workout in the afternoon and do my cheat meal after that. that way, my body is still in a high burn state the rest of the day to help burn off some of the cheat meal. then I fast the next day, which is pretty easy since I ate a bunch the previous night.0 -
Most was about 5 Ibs.
On one occasion, I had made the error of buying two bakery made fruit loaves that were really nice. And I was due my TOM, I got through both loaves with honey in the space of 12 hours, and was 5 Ibs heavier that evening. I lost 4 Ibs of it the next day after a long bike ride and eating normally.
Other times, I have had a row of 2-3 days of eating badly - meals out, cookies, jelly beans, desserts, and gained the same. Generally took me a 5 days or so to get back to normal and believe me, the higher number on the scale after does bother me when it does not drop within a day or two. I am dreading Christmas, lol.0 -

Wow, you ate over 5 lbs extra of food, not including the water weight in said food?0 -
mine is more like a cheat weekend and its about 5 lbs. I will lost 2-3 just on monday and the rest by the following friday. I hate it! I started weight watchers monday and i have to weigh in next monday. I hope this keeps me accountable0
-
Interestingly, I have never seen a huge spike in the scale after a weekend. Maybe a pound or so, but that can and does happen in the middle of the week, too! Everyone is different.0

1 would never eat 3500kcal of extra food. that will set u back a week. i usually would do 500 i can imagine 1000. never 3500.0
-
I don't have cheat days or meals, I just try to make things I want to eat fit in, sure I've been over a few times so far but I never schedule a 'whatever' day (cept my brothers wedding, all my calories went on champagne! )0
-
3 lbs And it was just the other day or so... And in 3 weeks I put 8 lbs back on... got 3 lbs off and working hard on the rest..0
-
On average it was 3-4. Gained 6lbs one time, so proud.0

Around a pound!! Sucks! Add me (anyone!!!!) if you need support!0

Made me feel gross for two days, but didn't set me back at all- def not a week. Just got back on the horse the next day and carried on.0 -
and thiiis is why I weigh myself at the very very most once a week, usually once every other week. I don't weigh myself after cheat days and if you just weighed yourself at the end of the week, you probably wouldn't feel so bad about it! Don't weigh yourself so much and by the end of the week you won't even notice that the cheat day happened0
-
I had my first cheat day today. I feel bloated and ill. I was around 2100, with normal being 1100-1200. Never again ... I don't weight myself until next Sunday, so I'll have to work it all off before then!0
-
I just had a huge cheat on Sunday and weighed myself Monday.
Didn't seem to make a difference. Maybe a half pound, or nothing at all.
I will add, however, that a previous cheat (4,000 cals total) entailed about 1,000 calories of bourbon chased down with a chocolate-frosted doughnut. Not only did my sweat smell like Maker's Mark the next day, but my stomach seized during situps.
Kids, do not try this at home:

7 pounds. But was after pretty much fasting for 4 days because of a medication which makes it really hard to eat! The fist day after I stopped taking it I ate 3,000 calories I went from 113ish to 120ish I'd lost a few pounds overnight then I lost like 4.5 after a 2.5 hour work out (spin, run and lift) so no lasting damage but holy hell was i bloated!0

worrying about the weight coming off isn't the point of this thread. As I have said several times (if you had read the entire thread you would know this) I am new to this and just curious how much others have seen their weight shoot up and how long it took it to drop. This a very interesting physiological event to me! Its like a magic trick!
Getting some good stories here too!0 -
