Arthritis, fibro and starting an abs workout...

I have downloaded an app with some very basic abdominal and buttock exercises that I want to start doing, slowly at first, but hopefully getting stronger.

My question is: can I do these exercises on my bed instead of the floor?

With my mobility problems and arthritic knees etc. there is no way that I could get down onto the floor, let alone back up from it! I have begun sessions of water based exercise therapy, and want to try doing something more. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

I do mine on the bed (its really firm) cos I can t get off the floor on my own sometimes

  • I do mine on a rug or on 3-4 layers of yoga mats. Also, there's some ab exercises you can do that don't put quite as much strain on your back/force your back against the ground as much. I've been doing this ab workout every morning (just started 1 week ago): http://petiteathleat.blogspot.com/p/the-300.html - I just do as much as I can without my RA flaring up but this has actually been easier than some ab exercises for me in terms of arthritis pain/fibro...good luck!
