After losing 16lbs I have been hovering around 195-197lbs for about 4 weeks and I've really had enough. I was so excited when the weight was going and now it's getting to me.
Please have a look at my diary (I'm really bad at logging at weekend's as I'm not at my work computer and I got get good connection on my phone at my boyfriends house) I know the diary is a bit blank in some parts but try and forgive haha (;
I generally eat a healthy diet it probably could be a little better but I don't eat too much processed stuff and my parents are pretty into health and nutrition, meaning we rarely have take away or fatty family meals!
On the exercise front i hardly ever remember to log, I walk at least twice a week now for about 4 miles each time, I walk to an from work which is about a half hour round trip so 5x30 adds up too! i like doing calisthenic work outs too at least twice a week.
Why am I not losing weight again? Please don't be rude or state to obvious, I just want some help!
Oh and it probably is worth while mentioning I have upped my calories by about by around 300-500 calories! i used to dwindle about anything from 800 - 1100 per day and now I make sure I am as close to 1400 as possible!
opinions would be great..do I need to drop my calories again because I feel that's the only way to lose again.

we actually have the same concern. I tried upping my calories, did weights, etc but my weight is stuck and i too am getting frustrated. ;(0

I cannot see your diary, but I do know this. Those last pounds are the devil to lose. I started dieting in Feb of 2011 and did the on again off again thing. Been very serious in the last 4 months and have only taken off 20 lbs. You did the right thing by eating more, remember that working out produces muscle and it does tend to stall you. Have you taken measurements? that is a great way to tell if your going in the right direction. How often do you weigh?0

every 1-2 weeks ): i've actually only started taking measurements so hopefully it will help as I've recently bought TRX Suspension cables to help with some toning! my lowest weight was 125 lbs so i literally have like 170lbs to lose so it's not even the last few, if it was I maybe wouldn't be so annoyed but i've still got a long long longggg way to go ): ): i'll see if i can fiddle with my settings and make my diary public0

How tall are you? Taller people use more calories on average. I'm 154 cm (5'1 for the 'mercans) and I've just entered the normal weight range though I am at the heavier end of it. And my BMR is right now at 1250. So, if you're a shorty like me then having a low -as you said, up to 1200 calorie diet is actually not wrong.
It's all relative... If you're taller then how's your water intake? How about salt? How long have you been at it? A lot of people hit a plateau somewhere around the 5th/6th month of weightloss - the dreaded half year plateau. Sometimes the way to break it would be to eat whatever you want for a week, then go back to the lower calories. Don't worry about the initial weigth gain, you can't actually put on more than 0,5 kg per week or fat/muscle and even then you've got to REALLY eat way above your stable calories. so if you gain a little, it's all that food that needs processing.0 -

diary is now public! and i am 5ft 5! i am absolutely horrific at drinking water. I actually have to take prescribed re hydration powders at least 4-5 times a year because it gets so bad. I am never ever ever thirsty! i could drink at most half a glass of water per day and be fine! it's something I've actually had a referral to a specialist for as it has affected my kidneys and liver in the past ):0

I have no clue what most of that food is.....but I do have a couple of suggestions.
1. Commit to tracking daily, without fail. I promise you will see better results if you are consciously paying attention to what you are eating and drinking.
2. Cut out the processed food. It doesn't have to be 100%, but I see very few meals, and very few fruits and veggies in your diet, on the days you are actually logging. Protein is good and all, but you need the nutrients and fiber from the veggies.
3. I understand the issue with water, but it's still essential for your daily functions. Try to up it slowly. If you increase your veggie and fruit intake, that will also help you stay hydrated. Fresh fruits and veggies are loaded with water. But try to at least drink 2 cups of water a day. It doesn't have to be today. Today, try for 1 cup. Tomorrow, 1.5. By the end of the week, 2 cups should be easy. Then, see if you can't up it to 3 or 4. Baby steps is the key.0 -

Having just read your diary you eat a far bit of prepared food nothing wrong with that, just they have hidden salt, thickener etc and this might be why you have stayed the same for a while, you could try more fruit and veg and mix the types of food, jacket potato, rice with steamed carrots + brocoli. Just a idea. Also it could be your body adjusting to your good weight loss.

woot graze is the best! i think maybe i just see a packet of noodles or something that has less then 1% fat and then that's work sorted! all i have in work is a kettle and a fridge so its hard to make healthy stuff at home and then heat it up, also doesn't help that i work in the upper side and all shops and cafes round here are really dear ):

Hi what a pain , had you thought of a gaz stove, only kidding:) Must be tricky thou. Have you tried making up a batch of soup at home and take it to work in a flask with a couple of crispbread and an apple that will fill you up.........I resort to apples they are so easy and fit into a handbag:) ps. I have to hide the graze flapjack-- calories whoooops0

hmm, something that you could try is upping your protein intake and lowering the carbs, see what your body does. A tenderloion steak has very little fat and is therefore surprisingly low on calories. Likewise all fish (of which I see you already eat lots), chicken filet, beans, eggs and milk products (cottage cheese! best thing ever seeing as I don't drink actual milk)
Although, if you do up your protein, you really need to drink more as more protein puts some extra pressure on your kidneys. If you don't feel like water, how about a cup of (herbal or green) tea? It also helps to fill the gaping hole of hunger...0 -
From the looks of your diary it seems you are not eating enough and not exercising enough. try going to the gym (i've only started losing weight since i've been going regualryly and only weighing there).
try taking walks around lunch time
Also if you keep your breakfast under 250 cal, your lunch under 300 cals and you dinner under 800
that equals 1350 you have some spare and you and work some off.0
