Well, that's not why I clicked but I guess we have to talk protein bars instead.
I don't know what recipe you are referring to but I made mine (protein balls - table spoon size) with oats, peanut butter and protein powder and they came out pretty hard after staying in the fridge for an hour or so.
What are you adding to yours?
pretty much the same, maybe I do need less liquid? It's pretty thick though
I don't add any liquid at all, just oats, PB and protein powder. PB melts when you mix it all up but then hardens in the fridge. Try adding maple syrop (natural) or a tiny bit of honey.
ETA: if you are not afraid of some extra calories, try melting dark chocolate and mixing it in. YUM!0 -
I perked up when I saw this title.... now I'm sad
For real :grumble:

It DOESN'T happen all the time, and it IS a big deal!
WE WERE ON A BREAK!!
I wondered if anyone would remember that :flowerforyou:0 -
Hmmm... I don't know about the recipe you're using, but I've had some experience making no bake cookies. (Those you can't refrigerate to set, have to sit on the counter). I found if I cooked the sugar/chocolate mixture too short a time it wouldn't set up as well. Also, if it's a rainy day it takes forever to set. Dunno if this helps.0

Try stroking them more. Sometimes it just takes time and extra effort.0

Are you baking them? once I put mine in the oven they come out like hard brownies almost always.0
-
how are you rubbing these out?
Really the key is technique. Use long smooth strokes and work the bar to the end. That should solve your issue.0 -

I'm concerned I pull them out prematurely0 -
A little extra kneading is the key. If you heated the ingredients you may need someone to blow on them while you do this. :glasses:0

soo disappointed now....0

Not sure if we still running with the joke or we trying to fix an issue by adding the humor. Anyways, let me know0 -

youmay want to try to play with your protein bars to see if that hardens them
I'd be happy to "tweek" your recipe!0 -
