    Oh. . .i LOVE cilantro!!!! My hubby uses it in many dishes!! My mom on the other hand abhors it! Crazy! Glad hubby and I are on the same page. . and all the kiddos like it too. Phew!

    Hate Cilantro (agree, tastes like soap) -- love coriander seed. Can't believe it's from the same plant.

    Now that's just wrong. Mint is wonderful and fresh. Cilantro tastes like soap. Who wants to eat soap? :laugh:

    Im from India....i dont think that Cilantro is generally just chomped on...its usually mixed with something else...or chewed with something else...i havent ever just snacked on a sprig of Cilantro....its like grabbing a raw cabbage leaf and chomping it...edible, but not really meant to be eaten like that. Its not 'delicious' tasting...but eaten in Mexican food, Indian food....or made into a paste with other ingredients just adds to the flavor.



    Exactly, kind of like green onion or something.

    cilantro = coriander down under.

    I like it fresh in small amounts only. And by fresh I mean from my own herb garden.

    Much prefer using fresh basil/fresh purple thai basil and fresh italian parsley in my food. mmmmmm

    huh, I have never heard of people not liking cilantro because of a genetic defect. It does not taste like soap to me, but maybe the reason I cannot handle cucumbers is because of that...smells and tastes horrible, I wish I could like it :/

    I thought I was the only one that hate cilantro, because of the soap taste. I glad to see some else thinks it taste like soap.

    I love Cilantro.... But hate Sage! I can burn it like inscense or smell it growing wild but put it on food YUCK! This why I hate stuffing and most poltery seasoning. Cilatro I can eat fresh on anything yummm... salsa, pho, anything! wheres the anti Sage group meeting at? I must have turned a wrong corner.

    I HATE it also, but only raw. If cooked into rice or with meat it is alright. Even then it should be used in moderation! I hate how Chipotle's rice has raw cilantro in it, and you can't get just regular rice in your burrito bowl!

    I didn't realize so many people hated cilantro. Dawn dish soap leaf. Yuck. We should make a Cilantro sucks group. LOL.

    Cilantro pesto!

    1 1/2 C fresh cilantro
    1/3 C fresh parsley
    1/4 C parmesan cheese
    2 cloves garlic
    3 T walnuts
    1 T olive oil
    1 T lemon juice
    salt and pepper to taste.
    mix well in food processor

    Stir pesto in hot fettuccine and top with grilled salmon. Yummy! Low in cals, fat and carbs.

    NOW THIS I'LL TRY!!,....sounds yummy!
