Shoe addict finally needs advice

I've never been a hardcore runner but I have always been active. My Nike cross trainers have always done the trick when it comes to gym workouts, hiking, biking etc. The past 3 months I've been running consistently about 3x a week with 2 days of cardio and strength training at the gym. Unfortunately my shoes are KILLING me. Between the sore ankles and blisters I'm tempted to give up. I know it's not an issue of weak ankles because I danced en pointe for 7 years. I just need some help choosing the right shoe.
Also- I know this may come off as vapid but as a woman with 60+ pairs of gorgeous shoes in her closest...I'd like for them to be aesthetically pleasing as well

Go to a shoe store geared to runners. Runners Roost, Running Room...anything like that in your area. They will actually watch you run etc and help fit you for the perfect shoe! Its amazing and totally worth the money!0
