Update me on the Walking Dead

So I haven't had cable in over 10 years, but I picked up this weekend. My sister introduced me to the Walking Dead's first season on DVD. I watched some of the marathon of the second season on AMC, but I missed the last half. As such, I was lost on a few things when I watched the premier for the new season. Without spoiling the premier for those on the west coast, can someone please answer a couple of questions for me? Don't want to ruin it for anyone so if the answer to one of my questions spoils the premier, just come back to the thread tomorrow to answer.

1. Where is Shane?

2. How did Adrian get separated from the group?

3. Who is that chick Adrian is traveling with?

4. Why did Hershel and his daughters decide to leave the farm?


Thanks for helping me out. I wished I had come back to catch those last few episodes of the second season that aired right before the premier, but somehow I couldn't convince the kids to let me watch it all day. They had to see something on the Disney channel.

    a) turned into a zombie. was offed by Rick.
    b) zombie herd attack on the farmhouse. she got left behind and had to make it out on her own.
    c) new character from the comics. you'll learn all about her this season.
    d) see b) and he finally realized he couldn't "cure" the zombies of their "disease", so no reason to stick around collecting zombies in the barn.

    Well someone is faster at the keyboard than I am...Amazon has the whole season 1 and 2 you can buy as well.

    I dropped the streaming because I never used it on my laptop and the iPhone app was always losing connection. Currently, my daughter has my Netflix tied up with the Bleach anime. Of course, they don't have all the episodes so once I get through them all I will still be behind. I've also got to get caught up with True Blood too. I saw the first 3 seasons on DVD and was trying to get through the 4th season on Netflix when the kids go visit their dad. It's just few and far between that they do.

    My answers won't spoil the premiere for West-Coasters. But you really should get caught up on the past two seasons.

    1. He is dead. Rick/Carl killed him. He tricked Rick into the woods in order to kill him. Rick figured it out. They argued. Bada bing. Rick stabbed and killed him first before Shane could shoot him. Then, 'he's alliiiiiiivveee' and Carl shot him again. He wasn't bit. The virus is already inside them.

    2. I think you mean Andrea (and I'm not trying to be pretentious). And she got seperated when the herd of zombies got to the farm. They all got away and she got left behind by accident.

    3. Andrea is with Michonne. No further into her character from the show yet, although there is info available out there from the graphic novels. She has two little zombie men slaves to keep the zombies away.

    4. They left the farm due to the aforementioned herd taking over the farm. They had to.

    I saw most of the second season during the marathon on AMC. I just didn't see much after Shane and Rick got into that fist fight.

    Same as above, but Andrea was with Michonne, and she is bad *kitten*! And the entire farm got invaded by thousands of zombies and got burnt down.

    the final scene from last season was of a prison in the distance. that's called foreshadowing for the coming season. ;)
