Ran my first 5K :)

I ran my first 5K on Saturday morning for the Baltimore Running Fest. I'd been talking about doing it over the past few months and finally got up the courage to sign up two months ago. It was amazing and I completely understand why people say they are addicting! I can't wait to do another!
I've been training a few times a week but couldn't get up to 3 miles without feeling like my legs were going to give out. I don't know if it was the adrenaline or people on the side lines cheering but I finished the 5K in 33 minutes (which was much faster than my training times) without stopping .
I'm so proud of myself. I never thought I would get to this point and I feel like I could do so much more. My next goal is a 10K and maybe the half marathon by next years Baltimore Running Fest!!

I'm running my first 5k in less than two weeks. I haven't ran more than a mile at once yet, so I'm hoping that the same phenomenon that happened to you will work for me, too! You give me hope!0 -
Well done, you should be proud! I'm on week 8 of C25K, but the 5k seems a LONG way off!0

I am so happy and proud for you!!! Good job!! I am going to be in my first 5k on October 27. I am scared and so excited. I have been able to run the whole 3 miles here at home but am so nervous about doing it with a bunch of people. You just made me feel so much better I did c25k this summer and got brave enough to sign up for the 5k. I can hardly wait now!! Congratulations to you!! :flowerforyou:0

Congrats!! I'm participating in the zombie 5K on the 27th as a stumbling zombie ... thought about running it but at my pace there's no way I'd even remotely outrun the runner zombies, haha. Have fun as you continue running!!0

Thank you! Don't be nervous! You'll be so excited that you'll fly right through it. I had moments where I started to feel it a bit more but just use the people around you to keep you motivated. You'll be amazing! Good luck :happy:0 -
