Hey everyone! I'm new on here and thought I'd introduce myself
My name is Mel and I'm 22, Irish. I gained a lot of weight during a difficult period in my life...going from 115lbs to 180+ in just two years! It has taken me three years to get to where I am now, 130lbs...15 away from my original weight, my goal weight, and jaysus has it been hard! In that time I went through a year of binge eating disorder hell which I finally have a grasp on, and I've also since become a vegetarian. I've completely changed my lifestyle and my attitude to food has changed so much, things I used to froth at the mouth over now are a major turn off and I defo think quality in food over rules quantity any day! Now I love eating good, delicious fresh food, and I love to walk every day and go to fitness classes / lift weights every once in a while...but I'm finding the bit of pudge around the middle so so hard to shift.
I want a flat, toned tummy, and I'm gonna make it happen this year!
Baby steps people, slow and steady wins the race, trust me
Hope that this place helps me to keep on track more days than not to finally get the body I've always wanted!

Thanks so much everyone! I love seeing before and after pics too, and after looking at all the success stories on here I'm raging I didn't take full body shots in a bikini!
I wasn't confident enough, and I think I was in denial about my weight and size until a family member said it to me
I used to shower with the light off! Seriously! Haha :laugh:0 -
Greetings fellow Irish person!

Yay, Irish people! I need to tell everyone I know about this site...only just joined but the more I figure out how to use it the more motivating and addictive it becomes! Its like facebook for fat loss!0

You were beautiful then and are beautiful now! Congrats on overcoming your struggles with the binge eating disorder as well!0

Thank you! I know everyone over eats at times, but binge eating disorder is a horrible thing to have as you feel like you aren't yourself, there is some food beast taking over your body! Its like having bulimia without purging...not good! So glad I got over it, its not worth it at the end of the day! Best advice to anybody out there going through the same...only way not to binge is to not start! Do not take the first bite of your trigger foods, and the craving will go away in 10 or 20 minutes It is not true hunger x0

It's definitely addictive - and tis great cos I can hide all my weight/food stories here away from FB, and everyone keeps me motivated too :happy:0 -

You brought me so much hope. Your story is my own except I am working on my success after my 5th kid was born in March, so this is my 4th go round losing weight (I have a set of twins). I to have BED and have had it for years but didn't recognize it until last spring when I put a name to the problem. I then did lots of research and having been recovering (binge free for almost a year)..I also have turned into a vegetarian and only have meat on the weekend occasionally but only fish, chicken, and eggs, even then I am almost giving those up but it has only been a week. Thank you so very much for posting your story, I have looked and looked for success stories like yours and even posted for replies and got shunned. Keep up the excellent work.,0

You are gorgeous at any weight, but I'm sure you feel great being healthier. I am 2 pounds away from my goal weight and it has taken me 4 weeks to get the scale to move. I keep bouncing around the same 1 1/2 pounds. You can do it!0
