Well I've done day 1 of the shred. It wasn't too hard though like most people told me it would be? I still did sweat (but I didn't drench myself) and my heart rate was high for most of it. But it didn't totally kick my *kitten*. I am sure that tomorrow I will be sore. My legs already feel like jello and the push ups were pretty hard on my arms! Maybe I am more in shape than I thought? Will I still lose inches/tone up even though it wasn't killing me?

I started 30 Day Shred today also. I read a TON of blogs and reviews on this video and thought that it would totally kick my butt. Yes it was hard, I sweated like crazy and I was out of breath, but I didn't feel like I needed to scream or vomit. I knew I could finish it. My legs and arms are a little sore so I know that I was working hard, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

I took my measurements last night and I am hoping that I still see some great results. Has anyone that is in decent shape done this video and still seen big results?
  • I did the same thing. You should add me and we can compare at the end?

I think the people who have a really hard time the first couple days have not done strength, cardio, ab sets in a while (me) once my body figured out what I was trying to do to it, it has been much better. I am not quite able to do the deeper movements but I am getting there. I am also taking my time with each level, making it more of a 45 day shred. Good luck to you and congrats on getting through it!

there is a new 30ds thread in this forum every hour; how exciting!

but yes, first day i was like hey this is not bad at all.. maybe i move to level 2 sooner than i had planned?
then because i was sore and got progressively more sore each day, it became more of a challenge and yes i do see a difference.

Soreness is not necessarily indicative of how well the workout went.

The first day was very easy for me, as well. Then the next day I was far sorer than I thought I should be, and the workout was accordingly harder. I started to feel "normal" again after maybe Day 4 (i.e., no longer crazy-sore and resentful), at which point I started deliberately pushing myself harder each time. Today I finished Level 2, Day 7, and I've found that it really all does depend on how hard you push yourself. It's possible to do this program either light or hardcore!
  • Yea I was super sore the next day. Taking a day off for other reasons though. But I am gonna be back at it soon. When it comes to being sore (excruciating) and I can barely move should I keep exercising? I have a baby to take care of I can't exactly just be sore and push through it when she is so young.

depends on the type of soreness, but my own general rule is that if I am having trouble performing those same movements because of the pain, then I take a rest day.

for 30ds I took a rest day after the first 2 days lol =) and it did me good and it has gotten progressively easier since then - gave it my all last night and hardly sore at all today!
