So fed up of being this overweight

I am fat! I'm about 3-4 stone overweight and I hate it!
I'm 5ft 3 and between 175-180lbs and I feel so disgusting :'( This app has recommended I stick to a max of 1580 calories a day and each day I am doing that and am exercising for 30 minutes a day. I've only been doing this for a week really but I don't think I've lost anything and I NEED to lose this weight for summer next year as I'm going away to several music festivals and I can't do another summer hiding away my disgusting body :'(

Will I actually lose weight if I just keep at this?!
Help me:(

If you keep at it you will lose the weight. I started this January 10, 2012 and started out weighing 197 lbs which is more than I have ever weighed in my whole adult life. Today I am proud to say that I am 136.5 lbs. I ONLY switched the amount of food I was consuming. I started out only eating 1200 calories a day. That worked for me for a long while and some weeks I lost more than 2 lbs others I didn't lose much more than half a pound. I have upped it to 1300. I usually stay in between 1200-1300 but I have had my days where I have binged. My advice is to not cut anything you love to eat completely out of you diet because I think that is why I had binged. I joined thinking it wasn't even possible to do all of this without exercising anymore than my usual chores and such around the house. But it is possible if you can't afford to go to the gym or whatever. The biggest thing is not to give up. Keep pushing yourself and you will for sure get there. Good luck!

Stick with it and you will make your goal. You didnt gain all of your weight overnight or in a week so you cant expect it to disappear overnight.

I would suggest getting some friends and reading the forums. You see success stories everyday. everyone on MFP is very supportive. Feel free to add me. I am on MFP everyday.

Yeah I about slammed my head on my keyboard after reading that line.
It takes more than a week to start seeing results. You didn't gain it over night your not going to lose it over night either. Keep chugging away and you'll see results. I've been at this for a couple years watching everything I ate. Even taking those nasty pills. Since I finally got my MS to go into remission and am off all of those nasty drugs I'm finally able to lose weight. But even that took months after the meds were out of my system before I started to see the scale move. One week is nothing. To lose weight you have to make a life change. Eat healthier and get moving.

I know a week isn't enough time for any noticeable difference but I'm just so fed up I wish it would all disappear.

wish in one hand, *kitten* in the other, see which fills up the fastest.

Most of us can probably understand your frustration right now (I know I can), but you have to channel that and do something with it. If you don't, you'll be in this exact same spot six months from now with no progress to show for it. Small steps, with consistency, do make a substantial difference.

That week where you ate only the absolute cleanest of foods and exercised for a trillion hours and had a 10 bajillion calorie deficit that one time six years ago doesn't mean a damn thing.

What matters is that six month, then six year, then lifetime stretch where 80-90% of the time you stayed on track. Where you exercised consistently and made more smart food choices than bad ones. THAT is what will get you the change you want. It is not a fast process.

    Good luck.

IF your so fed up then take out your anger on some exercise equipment or get moving. Nothing helps me get out my frustrations more than getting a good cardio work out or going for a brisk walk. Don't sit around complaining about it..get up and do something about it. One week is nothing. Go at it for a few months and then complain if your not losing anything.
