I'm trying to come up with good exercise alternatives to walking when it's wet outside (we can't afford a treadmill or anything). Are the Wii games actually any use for exercising (ie. standing up to play and moving around properly).

I used that when I first started losing weight.0

I lost my first 20 lbs playing Just Dance and Biggest loser. I lived a pretty sedentary lifestyle so really anything that got me moving helped.0

I use the Just Dance 3, The Michael Jackson Experience and the Boxing.. All of those make you sweat and move A LOT. Plus on the Just Dance Game you can set it up as a work out method0

Great! Like I said, I need rainy day exercise. I tend to lose all motivation as soon as it's wet because it's an excuse. I know boxing on the wii can be a great workout :P0

It does actually work. I was using the Wii Fit (with the board) but it is highly inaccurate with the calorie count. I bought EA Sports 'More Workouts' from Gamestop a while ago, its great! A lot of different workouts ranging from 10 minute abs to 30 minute fast step aerobics.0

Boxing is supposed to burn a lot of calories. The only problem with the boxing us that there is a lot of rest.0

the hula hoop game is pretty fun and it still gets my heart racing. you can set it for as much as 5 minutes i think. it's a really good core workout too and great for cardio if you have the stamina to string together 4-5 of those 5 minute workouts. i just dont have the core endurance for that yet0

I have used the biggest loser and it did help burn and keep track when i got started. I seill use it on occasion and now i'm using we sports resort , the bicycling and the makes you look funny but its can be a work out, I also get my boys to do it and have a great time0
