Your go-to comfort food

So, I have a 3 year old daughter. She's normally a real sweetie and she's so adorable, but boy that kid has a mean streak the size of Texas when she is tired and can really throw the most amazing diva-esque temper tantrums you ever did see. I'm her mom so it's part of her charm, but sometimes, she pushes me over the edge. Tonight for example she decided that she wasn't going to do anything without screaming at me first. (I won the battle of course.) Her attitude problem combined with a stressful work day pushed me over the edge and I decided that the refrigerated cookie dough in my fridge would be the best way to solve my problem. When you've had enough and can't take it anymore, what is your go-to stress calming, nerve relaxing, soul soothing comfort food?

Anything with cheese. Melted, ooey-gooey cheese. Mac and Cheese, Grilled Cheese, Melted Cheese on Chili, Pizza. I avoid it like the plague these days, but every once in a while, its my go-to food hug. :-)

Y'all are making me hungry for something cheesy. I once made a Paula Deen cheesecake, It had a graham cracker crust, then a layer of chocolate, then a layer of caramel, then a layer of cookie dough, then the cheesecake layer and then topped with chocolate ganache. Best damn thing I ever baked then ate.

mmm homemade mashed potatoes. the kind that are loaded with so much yummy stuff they don't even need gravy. I boil my taters in Swanson's chicken broth instead of water for added flavor and use real butter and whip them with cream cheese. no wonder I got fat.

Grilled cheese with just a touch of cinnamon & sugar. My mom used to make this for my brother and me when we weren't feeling well.

WOW I had the same situation at my house last night with my 12 year old son! I had a piece of cinnamon toast at 11:00 p.m. Ugh!

    Toast with real butter...and wine...
  • Mine used to be pasta (like alfredo) and any kind of bread. I also love both sweet and salty so it was really easy for me to pack on the pounds. I have developed GERD (acid reflux) really bad the past few weeks so I have pretty much had to cut out chocolate, dairy, citrus and I'm not supposed to drink carbonated beverages, but I can't cut my one pop in the morning. I'm finding that the less I eat these foods (due to the acid reflux) the less I crave them. Chocolate is a hard one, but I'm slowly getting to that point where I don't even crave it anymore.
