Winter Fitness Goals?

Here in the Great White North, we are entering the five months of hell, otherwise known as "winter." (I am convinced Hell is cold, not hot). I thought I would figure out three fitness goals to work on during these miserable months, so I don't curl up around my Krispy Kremes while the snow flies. Anyone else doing something similar? Here are my goals:

*Actually run 10 miles without screaming, swearing or stopping for a Diet Coke;
*Master the "crane" pose; and
*Complete either P90X2 or Body Beast

Those sound like awesome goals. Are you running inside or outside? I have a totally irrational fear of slipping on ice, so I'll be reuniting with the treadmill sooner or later :(

    Mine are:

*Take at least one class a week at my gym
*Take the last two spinning classes I have on a Groupon I bought
*Start training for my second 5K
  • My goals are to:

-Continue outdoor running through the winter. I already have my eye on a pair of Yaktrax so I don't slip and break something.
-Continue taking Hot Yoga classes every other week
  • Unfortunatly that hell has aready arrived here in Central illinois. It has been raining, cold, windy or to dark to get in an outdoor work out, so it has been moved to the inside world. I really hate not being able to enjoy the fresh air.

cold here too but no snow yet. My 'pre-winter' goal is to run/walk my first 5k (turkey trot) but I don't think I'll be quite done with the C25K. Signed up anyway, will just do the best I can.
    Fitness goals for this winter:
    - finish C25K and keep running outside as much as possible (kinda nervous about ice/snow though)
    - back up plan is to get on the treadmill at the work mini gym 2 - 3 times a week if I can't run outside
-Yoga class 4 x a week, prefer 6x if possible
-daily walks with the dog regardless of weather (she's a malamute, she loves winter)

and do a 'real' 5K or two in the spring.....

Cold rain, bleh. I can handle rain in the summer, I can handle cold now....but together? Miserable! I'm just glad that I'm only running three times a week, so I can usual move things around and get out on the nice days.

Meh. My goals are just to go to the gym consistently 2-3x a week (I know it's not much because it's hard for me to find time to go, my gym doesn't have child care) And keep progressing and lifting heavier and basically just improving on my bad-assery in general.

i bought a bike trainer for indoors since i can't bike to and from work anymore pretty quick

goal is to get up early and ride med-high resistance every day for ~30 mins
go swimming 1-2 times a week (i usually swim for about an hour straight)
continue with 30DS until I can get through level 3 without it kicking my butt (level 2 is doing a good job atm)
and just do lots of abs and arms at least every 2 days

not the most concrete goals - but enough to keep me moving =)

My goals are to continue running outside as much as possible but to run on the treadmill when it is too wet or too dark. Take a spinning class or two to keep up with the cycling. Get to where I can swim 2500 yds without a rest in less than 90 minutes.

As long as it isn't wet or below 0 I don't see winter inhibiting me too much. The biggest downside is fewer hours of daylight.

Keep running ab 20 miles per week throughout the winter, do kettlebell workouts 3 times per week. Maybe sign up for a class at my rec center....

All the tasty holiday food is a strong motivator!
