Ways to 'spice' up water

Cucumber, lime, lemon and mint leaves All together, or individually. Otherwise, I skip the artificial sweeteners.0

Herbal tea bags. I don't brew them with hot water, I just put one in my big tumbler of water and snap the tumbler lid on over the string. Gives it a light flavor without the caffeine/dehydration of regular tea. I recommend the Stash tea herbal sampler--lots of interesting flavors like blueberry and raspberry hibiscus.0

Water is almost all I drink and does not have a flavor so it can get boring, yes. I don't want to add any sugar or aspartame though. Will I have to stick with frozen fruit or lemon, etc?0

Grape Mio is the best!! Or even the generic versions of MIO.. we usually get ours at Walmart for $2.79 each!! In the stores, MIO is usually $3.99.. I love all the flavors, and find that MIO is economical as well as helping with the consumption of water. In fact I no longer buy beverages (besides milk) for my family.. We always go to Walmart and stock up on all flavors.. that way the kids always have a variety to choose from..0

You don't have to get your water from pure water.
Juice, tea, coffee, etc
That is false.
I always consider my tea water. I dont add anything but a tea bag and and hot water.0 -
I like flavoured sparkling water, especially lime or grapefruit.
For plain water, I'd rather turn it into green tea or herbal tea.0 -
Make it super cold & add lemon. Talk about refreshing! I always get it at restaurants, plus its free.0

What I do is just take a pitcher of water, cut up a lemon or an orange and throw it in there to sit over night in the fridge. Gives the water a new taste without added sugars.0

I slice up a an apple and throw that and 2 cinnamon sticks in a pitcher of water and let it soak overnight. The cinnamon helps to energize you and speed up metabolism, plus it tastes great!0

Cucumber water is exceptional. I have to disagree with the person who said water doesn't have a taste. It very much does have a taste. If you're drinking tap or spring water, you're getting various levels of minerals that influence the taste and distilled water tastes oddly stale.
I prefer to stick to flavorings found in the produce section. Lemon, cucumber, berries, etc.
The other beverage I consider water is naturally decaffeinated tea without sugar.0 -
I spice mine up with TONS of ice!!!!! Actually, I have water in my ice, I think!!!
I agree that water does have a flavor. Different towns/cities/etc. can have a different flavor, depending upon where the water comes from, whats in it, what the city adds to it, etc.
I've tried oranges/strawberries/lemons in it, sliced and left overnight, but it just tasted like it had picked up "refrigerator taste" so I went back to plain water. That's about all I drink, except for unsweetened tea at dinners sometimes.0 -
Lipton cold brew, and ice water..
Mio, Crystal Light, and diet Soda all have the same nutritional profile. Propylene glycol, Acesulfame potassium, and Potassium sorbate. Not good things for you.0 -

I have a friend whose mom loved to try cool, different things and they would fill a container with cucumbers, or strawberries, or other random fruit, pour water over it, and chill it in the fridge. that gave the water the slightest hint of flavor, not too overbearing and it didnt leave that funny aftertaste some enhancers can (although i think mio tastes really good in water.) its a fun alternative to water mix-ins.0 -

Ditto. I can drink up to 7 cups of sencha in a day... I have a little 2.5 cup teapot and I always try to resteep it 3 times, partly to get my hydration in and partly to get the most out of the leaves. I don't add any sugar or milk, and I'm pretty sure the calories are negligible! Tea is lovely.0 -

that was a trick question.0 -
It's fine to count water from tea and coffee. Tea and coffee in moderation are good for most people. Even though there is some diuretic effect, it doesn't outweigh the amount you take in. You can also count water from food. Fruits and soups are some of the obvious ones with good water content.
I really like to flavor my water with lemon and lime juice. I also like to make green tea soda: brew green tea with an herbal tea of choice (strawberry or cherry are good bets), refrigerate, add to a tall glass with either carbonated or normal water and ice, and add sweetener as desired. Lemon and lime juice help maximize the benefits of green tea.0 -
Also, sometimes the difference between enjoying plain water is preparation time. I struggle to drink a glass straight from the tap unless I'm very thirsty (even over ice), but that same tap water refrigerated and then poured over ice is delicious to me. I also prefer lots of crushed ice to cubed. Makes a big difference to me, not sure why.0
