Does anyone find it absolutely unbearable to do ab workouts on a hard floor? With every movement my spine/tailbone dig right into the floor and it just hurts so bad.. I need to get a workout mat.

I do my ab work standing up, or with an ab wheel

    try it

I thought it was just me. We have parquetry tiles laid over concrete so today I took my yoga mat outside and it still hurt.... I think if I looked in the mirror I would find a bruised coccyx from doing sit ups with a yoga mat on my floor.

Ahh my parents have an ab wheel somewhere in the house but I'm in college & have no idea where it is lol! What are some really effective standing ab workouts?!

Yess I'm sure I'll get one too if I continue. & that scares me because the spinal bones are so fragile, eek I just cringe at the thought of them being crushed into the floor like that lol.

    Deadlifts and barbell squats ;)

Ab wheels can be had for like... six bucks at walmart.

Yup, I think I'm the biggest baby ever when it comes to mat work and padding. :) I work out on a carpeted floor AND put down a thick exercise mat. And the towel on top is for catching the sweat, but I won't say no to a little more padding. The bones do not like to be ground into the floor, give them a break.
