I'm debating buying the 30 day shred DVD; I just want to know peoples thoughts on it.
Is it worth the money? Yes I could google reviews or even search on here through the numerous threads on here - but tbh I'm too lazy to trawl through them all.

Yes definitely! The Shred was the 1st exercise DVD I ever bought and I now have 6 of Jillian's DVDs! They are hard work but so effective ... and it's only a short time out of your day!0

It was my only form of exercise when I lost weight for my wedding, and it worked wonders. I still have plenty more weight to lose - and I'm starting again tonight!! It's a fun workout aswell, and not very much time out of your day - so definately worth a punt.
 Good luck x0 -
I haven't started it yet. I've been wanting to check it out myself. But don't buy it. All three levels are free on youtube.com.0

I bought the DVD for less than £5 on Amazon. Just done Day 4 and it is really good I think. Not sure on the results but it definitely is a great workout!0

30DS is an awesome program! I won't lie....it is tough, but if you stick with it you will love the results. I've used it two different times. Once before a pregnancy and then afterwards. I lost 25 pounds before and then 30 pounds each time. I think the biggest difference most people see is in inches and I know my stamina increased tenfold.0

I finished it about 2 weeks ago, and while it was hard going I am now a total Jillian Michaels convert! Just started Ripped in 30
It's great if you're pressed for time; in the 20 minutes she does 3 circuits and by the end of it you WILL be sweating!
There are loads of 30DS results threads and you can see that it really does make a difference! I say go for it, you won't regret it! :happy:0 -
Yup, so worth it, best DVD I've ever used to kickstart my weight loss journey!0
-
I really really liked the dvd, but I want to warn you - its VERY hard on the knees. Be sure to check your form, and take it easy if need be. Otherwise, the results are fantastic.0

I did 30DS then RI30 and have now moved on to Body Revolution. They are hard work, but give great results. I personally had better results from Ripped in 30 than I did with Shred, but I think Shred is a great place to start.
Good Luck!

Definitely recommend it, especially as it a short, intense, work-out so it's easier to motivate yourself to keep going with it. :-)0

It's on youtube.
I attempted when i started my weightloss journey only completed 11 minutes and didn't continue because I was so out of shape.
90 days and -14 pounds later I got 22 minutes in and will continue doing the 30 days and trying harder each day until I get through the level 1 and do level 1 till I can do it without stopping/with some ease before moving on to day 2.
Some people do 10 days each level others use it differently either way seen amazing results Im keeping at it.0 -
I started with my weight loss two months ago and looks like we have about the same to lose, I'm doing the shred about 3 days a week, regular cardio the other days. I've lost 25 lbs in two months, and have totally different muscle formation that I did just two months ago, I'm also down 2 sizes in clothes. BUT, its hard, and there are still some of the things I cant fully do, I've stretched the weeks out, as a beginner there was no way I could just jump into the next week after just 1 week. (I still cant do a lot of full push ups I have to go to my knees) But if you just do them, and do all you can, every week you will progress into the moves. Having said that, I'm so much stronger. After a couple more months I expect to be able to do them back to back.0

I plan on checking it out myself too, I have heard a lot of good things about it!0

I just bought it and plan to start tonight. My question is what do you do after the 30 days are over? Start again?0
-
but tbh I'm too lazy to trawl through them all.
the 30 DS is not for lazy people
it works (like any exercise can work) but if you are lazy, then just stay fat and forget it
good luck0 -
it's great , it work unfortunately I get bored with the same routine So have never completed it !!
I am currently mixing it in to my exercise about 3 times a week , would work better I am sure if I could do what I was told0 -
lots of other ones to try after 30 day shred but it wouldn't do any harm to keep doing it !0
-
I'm on level three now and I am losing weight, though I do other workouts too. I like it. But I got mine from netflix. It's also on youtube and some libraries have it.0

I did it at the beginning of the year. It is a tough, but good workout.
I didn't see much difference on the scales, but lost a lot of inches and got good muscle definition. Make sure you take measurements before you start!
Good luck with it!0 -

Lazy in terms of finding info on the internet - not physically. I love being active.0 -
I'm on Day 3 so still in the suffering stage BUT I can see that it will give results. I've not bought this copy but got it through LoveFilm, might be an idea to see if you can rent it or perhaps see if the Level 1 workout is on Youtube to help you decide?0

I got mine at Wal Mart for $9. Definitely worth the money and then some.
I'm into week 8 of Body Revolution now. I've been very happy with Jillian's videos. I'm actually disappointed that she doesn't have anything more advanced than BR. From here I'll be moving on to P90X.0 -

We are not all as harsh on here Allie - best of wishes and luck in your weight loss and improved fitness!0 -
I lost 7 pounds doing the 30 Day Shred on the first week!
But more than weight loss, Jillian's exercise videos does wonders on your holistic fitness. When I was not yet doing the Shred, I could not run an entire 3k without stopping several times, but after a week of doing the video, I was able to run an entire 3k without stopping for the first time! It was not only the rapid improvement in strength and stamina. It was also the discipline that Jillian has incorporated in the video. It is this: whatever you do, and no matter how hard it is, you have to stick it out until the end because it's going to be over soon. Now, almost two years after finishing the video, I still have that discipline instilled in my mind in whatever I do, be it exercise or any other aspect in life.0 -

I'm into week 8 of Body Revolution now. I've been very happy with Jillian's videos. I'm actually disappointed that she doesn't have anything more advanced than BR. From here I'll be moving on to P90X.
I've wondered about P90X. How is it different from Jillian's workouts?
I'm about to go onto day 6 of 30 Day Shred. Haven't lost pounds but I have noticed extra firmness here and there. My chest especially. I hope I don't lose my boobs! LOL0 -
I didn't like this video. I'm not sure if it was Jillian or the workout. I get board very easily, and can't do the same video over and over. I was doing this on my off days for running, but ultimately chose other workouts. For the past 5 weeks, I've been doing Insanity, which is fun because there multiple dvds (but it's expensive). It is a similar concept, but longer workouts, and they are 6-days a week.0

I feel like BR is doing a great job of getting me ready for P90X, which is definitely more intense. I have my P90X kit and have watched and worked through a few of the videos. The workouts are longer and more muscle focused than BR, with a heavier focus on strength training. I feel like Jillian's videos have helped me gain some muscle endurance, while P90X will actually make me stronger.
Without BR, I don't think I would even have been ready for P90X.0 -
Today will be day 4 of Jillian's 30 Day Shred for me and I love it! It's definitely a great workout. She includes modified versions of some of the exercise for the beginners. I'm doing it daily and including walking/jogging.
I'm using the free Youtube videos instead of purchasing the dvd.
Good luck!0
