First off, it's "Rant at", or " rant about" not rant on, English it's not that hard
I don’t care, really I don’t! I’m focused on my ****, I set my treadmill going and the world could end half way through and I’d notice only if the power went and my music stopped. On weights I care even less, I’m not there for you, or even guy checking out the spandex girls doing planks I’m there for me. Move on or deal with it.
If you talk to me, and I notice, I’ll smile, and that is it. Deal with it or move.
If you want to grunt or fart, or swear or beat your chest, I don’t care, you’ve paid the same as I have to go to the gym, and it take me but second to grab a hand full of paper towels, and a baby wipe to wipe off the machines, I’m not scared of sweat even other peoples. Move on or deal with it.
Rule # 5 Applies in all cases

Mine:
STOP WEARING PERFUME. You are an A-HOLE. Some people are allergic and you walk by smelling like a french *kitten* which makes them fall to the floor in an asthma attack.
Anything else, I don't care.0 -
I have yet to figure why anyone cares whatsoever about what other people are doing at the gym (unless they're hogging a machine you are waiting use). Focus on your own workout.........you wouldn't notice what other people are doing if you minded your own business (hence my utter joy at being a solitary runner)0

I didn't even read the responses...just LOL'd a lot.
1. No one cares what you're doing.
2. No one cares what you're doing.
3. You're the one who's noticing what everyone ELSE is doing and talking about, and somehow making it about you. Take an MP3 player and do your thing...works wonders.
I care man!!!

Those allergic folks need to shove off then. As for a French *kitten*, I was at work one morning in a meeting with a few of my colleagues and my boss came in and said, loudly "Damn, it smells like a French *kitten* in here!" As I'm known for wearing cologne (and not that garbage Wal-Mart *kitten*) everyday, I knew he was referring to me. Since I'm naturally an A**HOLE, I really didn't give a flying *kitten* at a rolling doughnut. What was funny was after the meeting, his wife, who also worked there at the time, happened to come up to me, lean in closely and sniff my neck. I was kinda shook, but quickly recovered and loudly said "French *kitten* must be back in style!"
LSS: If you don't want to smell my cologne, either stay at home or come work out when I'm not there.0 -
don't forget slamming weights and growling
John North slams his weights, so i must do it too.0 -

Hell, Konstantin just outright drops his behind him from overhead press.0 -
Sorry if I don't know how to put 400 pounds down quietly.0
-
And if you've never bailed out of a heavy squat or snatch you aren't trying hard.0
-
You probably burn a lot of extra calories just being angry. If you don't look at their machines how do you know what speeds or inclines they're using?
Ha ha ha ha!0 -

There are some things that people do at the gym that just make me want to scream and I just wanted to post a public F-U to people doing this in the world! Stop doing this stuff, you're making other people miserable:
1. Keep your eyes on your own machine! I see you looking over at my machine to see how long I've been on it or what level I'm working at or whatever- stop it! Mind your freakin business!
2. Yes you're going super fast. I notice that every time I start picking up the pace, you start trying to out-run me. The difference is that your resistance is at 0!!! Of course you can run fast with it at 0 or 2 or 5! My resistance is close to maxing out so stop gloating! You're not 45 and out-running a 20-year-old! You're not 30 pounds overweight and in way better shape than everyone else! Again- mind your freakin business!
3. SHUT UP! No one wants to hear you going on and on about what you ate all day yesterday or what your political views are. We're trying to concentrate over here so please be polite and shut it! Talking about reps? Fine. Next routine or muscle groups? Sure. If you want to have a long blab session take it to a coffee shop! Also, congrats you barely broke a sweat. If you can chat the whole time, you're getting nothing accomplished!
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh Better. Sorry for the rant, but couldn't take it anymore! Anyone else have gym horror stories?? Let's talk etiquette.
This is why I take my mp3 player, and concentrate on my own work if I am by myself.0 -
I personally don't see an issue with any of the things you are complaining about. I think its great when people glance at my machine. I some how or another caught their eye so should be flattered. Those who speed up help to intensify my workout. If your down to race, so am I. I am after all there to work out.0
-
Sorry if I don't know how to put 400 pounds down quietly.
This! I love how people automatically expect the gym to be a quiet environment. I want to hear the intensity.0 -
I haven't been in awhile (no jokes please), but when I did go, it was a little annoying waiting for the thigh machines. One lady would sit at the adductor machine chatting with another lady at the abductor machine. Now I use the Wii, and my kids are right there with me. No waiting, no muss, no fuss.0

I CANNOT HANDLE this mother and daughter that come in to the gym HALF AN HOUR BEFORE THE GYM CLOSES to WALK on the treadmill at the SLOWEST speed for 10 minutes, then go on the ergo for 5 mins, and then STRETCH and drink water for 15 minutes...
MAKES ME SO ANGRY...GO HARD OR GO HOME
There I am, sweating it out on the treadmill, having an awesome workout which I started at least an hour and a half before the gym closes, and they come in with 30 mins to go - walking at the pace of a snail....
AND the daughter seriously needs to lose weight.. She needs to actually WORK OUT and SWEAT and challenge herself.. not have a lovely stroll at the gym
AND they both act so exhausted at the end when they're stretching.. whilst I'm drenched in sweat and red all over my face
soooooo annooooyyyinggggg
hahahaha, I feel better. And I guess its kinda motivating for me... But still, haha.
Wow such nastiness, how do you know if they don't have some medical condition that prevents them from " going hard or going home" pull your head in and think not all people are able bodied regardless I what they look like on the outside. At least they are off their bums having a go, people such as yourself are why many don't step foot inside a gym to begin with .0 -
I think you guys all need to take a moment to breath and realize that I'm the best.0
-
Ha ha..........this has been posted a few times before now.0

I don't like to listen to inane blather anywhere, but especially in the hot tub where I want to just relax. Otherwise, those folks next to you have paid for their membership, too, and as long as they follow the rules of the club, they can do whatever they want, just like you. Sounds to me like there is someother irritation spilling over to a more acceptable area to rant about. Do you get enough orgasms? That might help. If you can't get them with a partner maybe you need to *kitten*. Your outlook might change if you had some pleasure.0

You know what ticked me off is the other day, a nice 85 year old gentleman was talking to me and he says, "I was benching 280 pounds a few months ago.....I just thought, he should be proud of himself. "I am being sarcastic about being ticked". We all start somewhere at the gym and motivated people don't let others ruin their day, be polite, be respectful and get on with it. No one is really concerned about what other people are doing.....I am not anyway. Anyway, he only had two fingers on his left hand so I figure I don't have any complaints. As for grunting occasionally, better get used to it, those last two reps are killers.0

Who the heck cares what anyone else is doing? Bring some music and get on with it, already.0 -

lol +10 -
A number of years ago I stopped going to the gym and my health declined remarkably, recently I started back up again and at first, I really went slow with everything, bare bars, low weights, slow cardio, until my heart and lungs could handle it. Be nice to them and respectful, you never know where they are coming from......and secondly mind your own business.0
-
the only things I truly hate have more to do with just straight up inconsiderate type stuff.
leaving crap laying around, not putting weights back... I also can't stand when people wear perfume/cologne or talk on their phones - that's just rude.0 -
P.S. as for dropping a weight, if I am doing a set and I realize that I may get hurt, not going to happen, the weight is going to the floor and if that hurts your ears, man up or in this case woman up.0
-
If you are next to me on the treadmill, then yes, we are racing
AMEN! I love a good race :-)0 -
I think you guys all need to take a moment to breath and realize that I'm the best.
idk I mean... what If I think im the best ... and there can only be ONE "best" O.O... .. what then .. dun dun dun..0
