Advice on Keeping Children Healthy and Active

What about a sport to join? My son is only 6 but does martial arts. He does this between 2 and 3 times a week and they teach the importance of exercise. As they progress they also learn about diet and about the human body. I'm not really fussed as to what sport my kids choose but as long as it teaches them that being active is fun and beneficial. If I could afford it they would likely be doing sporting classes 5/6 times a week.
My kids also see me go to the gym most days so for them, it's a part of life. Whilst I'm pretty wary of putting too much on 'healthy' food or saying things are bad foods I do make them aware of what the benefits are of certain types of foods.0
