Buy new pants or not?

OK, so here's the situation...as of today, all my pants have now gotten too tight. My last pair still fits, they are just snug... This has now signaled me to really START on my weight loss journey, not just teeter totter with it any longer. We all know that weight doesn't just fall off over night, it will probably take a few weeks for me to actually fit comfortably into my old pants. so the question is, do I buy new pants for the next few weeks or just keep squeezing into the pants I have until I have lost some weight??

If you think it will encourage you to be healthy, I would say keep the old pants. However, if it's going to cause you to beat yourself up and feel bad about yourself, I'd say get a couple new pairs of pants. I think it depends on what works best for you. If you've got money to do so, you can get inexpensive clothes at a thrift store or on a clearance rack.

I would buy one pair of pants for your new size, so that you can go about your day/weight loss journey without feeling uncomfortable in your current body type. I think that squeezing yourself into tight clothes everyday will make you feel bad about yourself. Take your skinny pants, put them high on a shelf and make a goal to try them on in a few weeks. Concetrate on making healthly eat choices, exercise and feel good about your decision to get back on track.
When you lose the weight and can fit back into the skinny pants, treat yourself by buying another pair. This will serve as motivation to keep it off!0 -
Buy new pants... when your current ones are too big!
Keep squeezing in as a reminder why you are working hard. It can also help in those times when the scale says you haven't lost but your pants tell you otherwise.0 -
I'm squeezing in mine and then I will belt until I get to the next size. Clothes are too expensive to buy new ones every month or every two months.0

I bought new ones when this happened to me. Wearing pants that are too tight makes me feel bad. You should feel good about the body you have right now, IMO.0

If you do buy new pants, don't buy good ones or something you really like... That won't help motivate you to really start making healthy changes.0

I kept my too-tight pants because they were work pants and ridiculously expensive. Now I'm down at least a size, possibly two and I'm trying to keep them up with a belt til I hit my goal size lol. I'm at my goal weight but through working out and continuing to watch my eating habits, I'm hoping to lose a couple more inches which will definitely bump me into a size down. I vote to keep the too-tight pants...realizing I not only could breathe after buttoning my pants and sitting down but realizing that I needed a belt was one of the best feelings!0

Since you're just starting you'll probably drop 8 lbs of water right away. That might be enough to start wearing your cloths again but if your pant are uncomfortable replace them with something cheap.
My lack of cloths that fit inspired me to change too.0 -
