Deer crossing? Really? (rant)

Um... the signs are there because there is a high deer population in that area. It's not a designated place where deer were TOLD they could cross.. it's because they DO cross there and they don't listen when we tell them not to.
who let MIss serious pants in here?0 -
I agree Op it is garbage. If we can install Bike Paths, then we can install Deer Paths.

Us Canadians found a solution to this problem in most of our provincial parks fences have been put up and bridges created to allow safe passege for all the animals

I have to rant.
I almost hit a deer AGAIN this morning. Yes, there was a deer crossing sign...
But seriously, WHY do they have the deer crossings on the busy parts of the roads?
And on blind corners too?
I mean, wouldn't it make more sense to have the deer cross in a less populated area, or a road with less traffic?
I understand they have migratory needs and such, and need to move and get to other areas where they can find food, water, etc.
But they REALLY should have them cross in a safer area. For their sake AND the cars that may hit them...
Are you the person who called the radio show, wanting someone to listen and seriously consider moving the deer crossing signs to less populated areas, like the deer can read? LOL0 -
can the deer see? are they the blind sumits?
my mum actually fell for that joke once....
dad - "theres sumit blind up ahead!"
mum - "what? how do you know?"

I did almost hit one...and it reminded me of the dumb woman on the radio...so I thought I'd share.
I just didn't say "I heard this on the radio".
It's fun to see who gets it and who doesn't...0 -

I agree!! There was no sign when one tried to cross in front of me on my motorcycle. Make them cross where there are signs and put the signs in better places!!
