Weigh In's

I'm just wondering how often people are doing their weigh in's and logging weight loss. Also, if you are losing weight do you log it right away or wait a day or two to see if you are maintaining or continuing to lose weight. Just curious....

I only weigh in once a week, Sat a.m and log it and don't think about it till the next week when it starts all over again. I don't need to see (and get upset) over the daily ups & downs.0

I agree with airangel59, I weigh Sat mornings also, right before my workout...that usually gives me a extra push!0
-
Personally, I log it every morning.0

I weigh in every friday, and record it right away!!!0

I weigh myself everyday, sometimes 2 or 3 times (bad habbit) ... but I only log my Thursday morning weight. And I log it no matter if I was a pound less or more the day before.0

Once per week. It is the second thing I do every Sat. morning. The first thing I do is pee.0

I weigh myself everyday and only log on Saturday.0

I weigh myself every Saturday morning right after I get up. I make sure I keep the same type of variables as the week before, I.E. the clothes you wear when you weigh yourself, how much you have to pee, did you just eat, same time as last week, etcetc.
I also log my weight as it shows up on that Saturday morning. Personally, I just don't understand the logic of "waiting to see if it sticks" because if it doesn't stick...you'll know by the next time you have a scheduled weigh in. That's why you have scheduled ones.0 -
Personally, I weigh daily (though I realize that fluctuations happen and don't get bent out of shape over those). I only log new lows unless a plateau stays for a while.... since I have done that, I have logged an increase only once... and then the next drop happened. The best way I would say would be to log once per week at a particular time of the day... and log whatever it shows... BUT, to each his own on this topic; as long as what you are doing is demonstrating accurate progress. Best wishes on your excitng journey.0

I only weigh in once a week. Every Friday after I get a good workout in. Then I put the scale away so I don't see it until that next friday.0

I weigh first thing Monday, Wednesday and Friday right after using the restroom. I log every time wether I gain or lose.0

I weigh in every Sunday morning, that way i do not get frustrated every day and to keep myself accountable for weekend eating0

I usually weigh every morning (can't help it, I'm excited to see the scale going down!), but only log my weight on Sundays.0

Thanks everyone for all of the feedback!0

I weigh and log every time I go to the gym. I'm more interested in seeing the progression over time, and not the individual data points -- even if it goes up from one visit to the next, as long as the general trend line is going down, it doesn't bother me.
I used to weigh at home in the morning. But I have issues trusting scales, and figured the one at the gym would be more reliable -- it's one of the balance beam scales -- so I stopped weighing at home.0 -
Once a week usually and I log it when I do it0

I weigh myself every day to help keep myself on track, but I only log it once a week.0

Weigh every day because I like to know! It doesn't change my calorie intake for that day though. I only "weigh-in" to MFP once a week though to make sure the loss is real!0

I weigh myself everyday. This is how I get feedback on what I am doing. That being said, I don't panick if the scale goes up once in a while. Fluctuations happen. I also log my weight everyday. It keeps me accountable and reminds me that other people are going to see it, so I better be good.0

I weigh every morning. I usually log it just to keep myself accountable right now. I had previously not been logging my weight nor weighing daily & I got off track & gained back 3 of my 8lbs I'd already lost. I think that once I am feeling more confident in my ability to figure out the calories of things easier & my ability to do this, then I will likely log it only 1-2x per week instead. I do log losses & gains and I'm not the type to get bent out of shape if I see the scale go up one day from water retention. It happens0

I stopped letting the up's and down's of the scale bother me a few months ago when I started doing everything the healthy, right way. I weigh in any morning I don't feel super bloated but I only log it on MFP if it shows me a loss. xoxo0

I'm on maintenance, but when I was losing, I used to weigh every day (if I remembered) but only log when I had a loss. Since I didn't have a lot to lose to start with, my loss was very slow. Therefore, weeks would sometimes go by between loggings.0

I last weighed months ago.
When the bits that shouldn't jiggle don't I'll hop on but until then I will live in ignorance and go by 'gut feel'.
It's just a number.0 -
I weigh everyday and log it every day. I'm watching for trends with my calories and exercise as well as am looking at some possible food tolerance/allergy, inflammation and sodium problems
It has been liberating to me to know that I have a downward TREND even though the daily weigh-ins are all over the place. I'm not stressing over the ups but know that as long as I stick to the program and keep at a calorie deficit it will go down in the long-run.0 -
Every single morning.0

I weigh and log every monday morning after i pee. do a mid-week check sometimes but dont log till monday :happy:0

I usually only weigh once a week, but if I get a weight I don't like, I'll weigh the next day too to see if it was water or something. Like last week I was 255 and I weighed on my regular day and it was 256.9. Did not like! So I weighed myself on Friday and it was 252.9. Liked!!! So I recorded Friday's weight, of course. I was glad I did that.0

I only step on the scale once a week now, monday mornings & I log it.0
