I have a newly diagnoised diabetic cat. Now, that is something to contend with, and makes calorie counting seem like child's play.

Are you thinking about the upcoming Easter treats, and planning ahead so your diet is not sabatoged?

The only time I'm tempted is when I'm shopping and the shelves are lined with chocolate bunnies and eggs. I was going to hide eggs for my daughter (she's 15, but it's still fun), but since I quit the sweets, it's probably best that I don't have chocolate eggs hidden all over my house. :)

my son was about 5yrs. i was 1 month pregnant. son was asking about baby details like growing in your tummy and coming out. so i taught him that babies grow in a woman's uteras and come out a woman's vagina, or pee pee.
later that day, son and i were rideing the public bus. ~u can guees the rest but i'll say it too.
a 9 mo pg woman sat near us. my son loudly proclaimed, "my mom told me u have a baby in your uterus and it will come out your vagina".
all eyes were on me. i just smiled.

I used to work in the communications department of a large forest products company. The company had a special ceremony celebrating the planting of its 2 billionth seedling, and it was planted on Mount St. Helens a few years after it erupted. We had boxed lunches, and when it was time to eat, one of the very good-looking foresters invited me to eat with him. We sat on a large tree stump. After lunch when I was leaving (already quite a ways away from the cute forester), he yelled out to me, "It was nice meeting you!" I turned around and yelled back, "Thanks for letting me sit on your stump!"

Well, I don't like ANY disease, but the one that has affected myself & my husband the most with people close to us would be Alzheimer's/Dementia.

What was the eye opening moment when you decided, I need to be healthier?

When I fell asleep at the wheel. Exhausted, from sleep apnea, caused by the eleven-teen pounds of jowly neck fat keeping me from breathing at night.

What is the most thrilling thing about the changes you've made?

No big eye opener. I play on a soccer team. I am 56 years old playing with guys half my age. Finally moved to Goalkeeper so I can contribute. Don't want to quit, so I have to get in shape.

I remember the one i had last night. A few months ago I lived in Guatemala for 8 weeks and so in my dream my friend and i decided to go for month. When I got there I went into my old families house and waited for them to get home. when they got home the twins looked nothing like they did and my old house mom looked like my elementary music teacher. haha.

    where is your dream destination?

Don't really have one. I have done almost everything I wanted. One thing left. I retire in 7 years and moving to Las Vegas where I can enroll at Le Cordon Bleu College. That is the one thing I hope to accomplish.

What really gives you the creeps?
  • CasperO
    CasperO Posts: 2,913 Member
I'm gonna tiptoe here, 'cause a thread about stuff like this got locked a while back.

What gives me the creeps? I work in (name of backward area withheld) - and a colorful local colloquialism is misuse of the word "seen". Specifically, "seen" in place of "saw".

""Lemme tell you about the movie I seen the other night"". :grumble: :noway:  :frown:

It drives me crazy. But it's a short drive!

Wierd, lame old country tune by The Bellamy Brothers - "Santa Fe". Don't know why. There's one moment where Howard sings the line ",,, she holds on to my broken - - lifeless spirit,,," where his voice cracks in a most expressive way. Just gets to me.
