Programs on Stationary Bikes

Okay, probably a stupid question here but I don't know the answer so I've got to ask: will doing a 30-minute program on a stationary bike burn as much as riding 30-minutes on a bike outside? I do 30-minutes of usually the interval training, pike's peak, or something similar, but when I go to log my activity I'm not sure what to use.

I don't find that it does. Same with the treadmill. If I run or cycle outside I burn a lot more than on the treadmill or stationary bike.

Possible if you use a higher resistance, as outside your pushing your weight along also but by using more resistance you can simulate riding outside

I've slowly been increasing my resistance, roughly one level a week (this week I'll be up to Level 5), and to this point have been able to maintain a speed of about 17 mph.
