I shave it all off. I don't leave anything ever. It doesn't bother my skin and I don't get any ingrown hairs or anything. And I have very sensitive skin usually.
This. And I think the more you shave the less irritation you will have.0 -
I got a bikini wax once. Single most painful experience of my life, and I have 4 tattoos and 9 piercings. o.O0

Damn! I have a tattoo! are you saying waxing hurts more than that? Wow!0 -
I've wanted to get waxed for a long time but I cant get the nerve to do it just because of having to bare it all for a stranger :blushing:0

I highly suggest a good shaving cream, a clean razor each time and ALWAYS shave WITH the grain. Go with the growing of the hair, not against it. When you go against it, you welcome razor burn, itchy regrowth blah blah. When you go with the grain you don't yank the hair out of it's follicle reducing the razor burn and itchiness. Afterwards you definitely do not want to use any scented lotions or creams. Baby oil, bio oil, razor burn cream works wonders.
ETA: the source for my reasoning would be my dermatoligist as I used to break out anytime I shaved :grumble: and this included my legs etc...a real pain in the you know what.:huh:0 -

I usually go for a beauty therapist for waxing. I tried several therapist before, and I know that a good one make a big difference. I have very thin and sensitive skin and before I had bruises with others. Is it matter if you go for a specialist. The growing hair is finer, and much better to touch, and it's enough to do it once every month, and I don't have any ingrown hair problem.
I don't like trim my hair there at all, because when you trim and cut them, they become sharper at the end, and that hurt as they grow.
I have an electric shaver as well (I don't have the courage to use a sharp razor there), and sometimes I use that, but I have to use it very often, and also hurts when the hair grow back.
If you use anything that help to exfoliate the skin, that prevent ingrowing hair.0 -

This was my thing too. It was awkward at first because the lady was like...take your pants off and get on the table. The easing into part was not so great based on the place I went to. But the actual process was fine. After the first strip I didn't even care. :drinker:0 -
I trim with scissors about twice a year (when I'm sick of the hair getting clotted during ToM). Mostly, I leave it alone.
Seriously nasty!!!!!0 -

Wax it.
Wax it.
Wax it.
Seriously just get a wax you'll never look back. It doesn't hurt too badly only a sting for a second and lasts a good 6 weeks. Also when costs prohibit I use a hair removal cream between appointments to keep things clean. I have a Californian instead if a Brazilian much less embarrassing!0 -
This thread is gross. But in a can't take my eyes away from the car crash kind of way...
I have everything waxed down there its known as the 'hollywood'. I love how smooth it is, and it really doesn't hurt that bad. I can't take hair down there, it makes me feel really uncomfortable and itchy. This has definitely been an eye opening thread though, I always believed that most youngish women had no hair in that area either (due to porn eughhh don't get me started on the effect of men and porn) because they believed it was expected of them to be hair free. For me its just the comfortable factor.

I will never do it again, but I am a believer in trying things at least once before writing them off...0 -

Mine didn't last 6 weeks. :grumble:0 -
I am a strong believer in the wax. Have been doing it for years, it really does get easier every time! Do it at least once, you won't regret it!
For the ingrown hairs, I would suggest bringing a handful of sugar in the shower with you and giving your garden a good scrub, it is like an exfoliator and seems to help a little. Might not work for everyone, but it doesn't hurt to try!0 -
