EWWWWWW haha jk. I either use a electric shaver or when using a raZor shave down wards. Down wards, you will not get ingrown hairs....eewwwwwwww haha0

(no offense to people that do this) Hubby and I are not at all attracted to the "bare" look , but we both really appreciate the nicely trimmed look (plus man fur tickles my nose during bj's and it makes me sneeze....not a good time to be involuntarily clamping your teeth down lol) We have a beard trimmer that's designated use is for "down there" lol we make it fun and trim each other0

I trim with scissors about twice a year (when I'm sick of the hair getting clotted during ToM). Mostly, I leave it alone.

I wasn't sure if I was amused or disgusted - I LAUGHED SO HARD JUST NOW.0 -
First trim off as much as you can with scissors. Then shave off the remaining with a fresh disposable razor. Oh, before you shave scrub the area with scrubby gloves. Once you shave off what you want it's real easy to maintain, just shave every other day to prevent stubble and in-growns. Use a new razor every time.0

I've got a battery-operated clipper tool made specifically for this area. I'm very comfortable with it.0

i did a brazillian wax, and it was my first time, and my god did it hurt, i wanted to hit something, but i sucked it up, and i didn't cry, but the more often you go your hair will thin out and it will hurt less. Plus i loved the results, no itching, no ingrown hairs, none of that and it was nice and smooth!!! boyfriend loved it!!! lol0

I use Magic Shave. It's made for black dudes bald heads. $2.99 at Target. It stinks and is probably horrible carcinogenic chemicals but it works great and doesn't sting. Slather it on, wait 10 minutes and wipe it off with a washcloth. Viola, hairless! Hahahaha
My husband manscapes too, I don't even remember what it looks like with a giant bush. HA!
This made me spit my vodka everywhere! Manscapes is my new word of the day! Brilliant!0 -
I shave it all off as well, every day even though it doesn't grow back that fast, just prevents ingrown hair and there are no bumps.. smooth as a baby's bottom.. I love it! lol Just use a good shaving cream with not a lot of perfume and make sure the skin is wet thoroughly or else you will get razor burn. Usually helps if you soak in a bath for a few min first. Sorry if this is TMI.. lol But honestly, there's no pain, no weird bumps, and no ingrown hair. love it0

Question... when you wax, dont u get ingrown hairs anyways? and itchyness as it grows back?0
-
I shave it all off. I don't leave anything ever. It doesn't bother my skin and I don't get any ingrown hairs or anything. And I have very sensitive skin usually.
This. And I think the more you shave the less irritation you will have.0 -
I got a bikini wax once. Single most painful experience of my life, and I have 4 tattoos and 9 piercings. o.O0

Damn! I have a tattoo! are you saying waxing hurts more than that? Wow!0 -
I've wanted to get waxed for a long time but I cant get the nerve to do it just because of having to bare it all for a stranger :blushing:0

I highly suggest a good shaving cream, a clean razor each time and ALWAYS shave WITH the grain. Go with the growing of the hair, not against it. When you go against it, you welcome razor burn, itchy regrowth blah blah. When you go with the grain you don't yank the hair out of it's follicle reducing the razor burn and itchiness. Afterwards you definitely do not want to use any scented lotions or creams. Baby oil, bio oil, razor burn cream works wonders.
ETA: the source for my reasoning would be my dermatoligist as I used to break out anytime I shaved :grumble: and this included my legs etc...a real pain in the you know what.:huh:0 -

I usually go for a beauty therapist for waxing. I tried several therapist before, and I know that a good one make a big difference. I have very thin and sensitive skin and before I had bruises with others. Is it matter if you go for a specialist. The growing hair is finer, and much better to touch, and it's enough to do it once every month, and I don't have any ingrown hair problem.
I don't like trim my hair there at all, because when you trim and cut them, they become sharper at the end, and that hurt as they grow.
I have an electric shaver as well (I don't have the courage to use a sharp razor there), and sometimes I use that, but I have to use it very often, and also hurts when the hair grow back.
If you use anything that help to exfoliate the skin, that prevent ingrowing hair.0 -

This was my thing too. It was awkward at first because the lady was like...take your pants off and get on the table. The easing into part was not so great based on the place I went to. But the actual process was fine. After the first strip I didn't even care. :drinker:0 -

Wax it.
Wax it.
Wax it.
Seriously just get a wax you'll never look back. It doesn't hurt too badly only a sting for a second and lasts a good 6 weeks. Also when costs prohibit I use a hair removal cream between appointments to keep things clean. I have a Californian instead if a Brazilian much less embarrassing!0 -
This thread is gross. But in a can't take my eyes away from the car crash kind of way...
I have everything waxed down there its known as the 'hollywood'. I love how smooth it is, and it really doesn't hurt that bad. I can't take hair down there, it makes me feel really uncomfortable and itchy. This has definitely been an eye opening thread though, I always believed that most youngish women had no hair in that area either (due to porn eughhh don't get me started on the effect of men and porn) because they believed it was expected of them to be hair free. For me its just the comfortable factor.

I will never do it again, but I am a believer in trying things at least once before writing them off...0 -

Mine didn't last 6 weeks. :grumble:0 -
I am a strong believer in the wax. Have been doing it for years, it really does get easier every time! Do it at least once, you won't regret it!
For the ingrown hairs, I would suggest bringing a handful of sugar in the shower with you and giving your garden a good scrub, it is like an exfoliator and seems to help a little. Might not work for everyone, but it doesn't hurt to try!0 -
