Help need breakfast ideas

I have never been one to skip breakfast. But unfortunately I eat a lot of cereal. I really would like to change up my breakfast for something low calorie. Especially since I eat more later in the evening. I want to save my calories for when I am truly hungry and get those munches. I don't want to do the shakes or protein drinks. All suggestions are much appreciated. Thanks. New to this site and trying to figure out my best foods.

I am not sure what kind of cereals you are eating but what about oatmeal. They have weight control oatmeal out now.0

Greek yogurt! Sweet, healthy, and full of protein.0

My new go to breakfast are crustless quiches. I make up 10 or 12 on Sunday night and put them in the frig so I can grab 2 every morning. Low calorie, filling and super easy.0

I am new to this program, but my favorite breakfast is a whole-grain frozen waffle (toasted) with almond butter spread on it along with a banana.0

Kellogg's Special K is a low cal breakfast cereal that I regularly eat for breakfast. Oats are also very good as theyre low in calories and really good for you. i normally have either with strawberries/blueberries. Just make sure you have it with skim milk or low fat not full cream. Also, look on your friends food logs to get ideas.0

skinnytaste.com has some great breakfast recipes - I make the broccoli/egg quiches (from the site) on Sunday and refrigerate and have 2 for breakfast each day - high in protein and has veggies!0

Pumpkin Almond Pancake
2 TBSP Almond meal
2 TBSP Ground flaxseed meal
1/3 cup pumpkin puree
1/2 egg whites
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice
1 TBSP Truvia
Mix ingredients together and cook as you would a pancake. This is one serving and about 240 calories.
God bless,

I normally have an eggwhite(well one whole egg and 2 whites) and reduced fat cheddar omelet for breakfast..with some pace salsa. It ends up being like 200 calories..and good protein. Also, oatfit(my fav is maple and brown sugar) has 100 calorie pouches of oatmeal. It's whole grain/flax and no sugar. You could have the oatfit and the omelet for 300 calories and probably be stuffed!0

you dont even really need breakfast. I have coffee.
When I am hungry, I eat...I like having more calories for AHMNOMnomNOM later:bigsmile:0 -
Shoot for a healthy amount of Protein AND Carbs. Don't eat only carbs like Oatmeal and fruit. Thats too many carbs and sugar. It won't get you off to a good start to keep you going all day!
Shoot for 2 egg whites and 1 whole egg scrambled with a slice of whole wheat toast! If you can keep your breakfast to a 1:1 ration of carbs vs. protein that is BEST!0 -
When I'm sick of eggs my fav low cal breakfast is a toasted crumpet with berries and yogurt.0

small serve of bakes beans and a piece of toast (wholemeal or seeded bread) or try 1/4 cup oats (poor boiling water over them just to cover - let rest for a minute or so) add 1/4 cup of yohurt, some srawberries and a drizzle of honey...yum!0

i have a slice of whole grain toast with some almond butter...
im not much of a breakfast eater but it makes such a difference to the rest of my day...
also, a vegie/egg white scramble with a slice of turkey bacon and a slice of whole grain toast...0 -
Quinoa with one tsp of sugar and cinnamon... Awesome.0

My go to breakfast is a peanut butter, a sprinkle of ground flax and apple wrapped in a high fiber, low carb tortilla0

Leftover dinner is always good, and you can't really go wrong with eggs.0

Thanks for all the ideas. So egg whites are better than whole eggs? Does it really cut the calories? I do eat the Special K cereal. Honey oat is my favorite. I tried two fried eggs in Pam with once piece of honey wheat toast plain. I assume the protein fills you up better than if I ate cereal.0

I always eat a nice, big breakfast, and it is never cereal.
Almost always there is a steamed vegetable, scrambled egg with cheese, greek yogurt.
Sometimes fresh tomato, onion, avo with the eggs.
Usually decaf coffee/milk/halfnhalf
This morning it was gourmet pancakes...don't usually eat breads at breakfast.
I eat about 1800 cals/day:)0 -
I usually have 1 whole egg + 2 egg whites scrambled with frozen spinach (heat up first then pour egg mixture on top), mushrooms, and/or salsa plus either Coach's Oats with flaxseed, wheat germ, and a little vanilla or 2 slices of Ezekiel bread toasted with ICBINB Spray. Both fill me up for about 3 hours and then I eat a snack or lunch depending on what time I got out of bed.0

Quinoa with one tsp of sugar and cinnamon... Awesome.

try scrambled egg with veggies in it...0

Take a tuperware container, or something like that, any shape. Spray lightly with Pam or other NON-stick spray, scramble up 1 or 2 eggs. Microwave for no more than 2 mins cooks eggs throughly and with no added fat. It will fluff up while cooking, but go shrink down some after.
Match containers when making sandwiches, IE... Bread, or English Muffin.0 -

I have a large size silicone muffin pan. I crack one egg into each cup, then you can add whatever you want to. I usually add a little grated cheese, maybe some diced onion & pepper, few bits of chopped ham or leftover bacon, or whatever suits your taste. I like salt and pepper as well. Take a fork and stir each cup then bake at 350 for 20 minutes or until they aren't runny. They pop right out of the silicone pan and I put them 2 at a time in containers to grab and go. I did try them the first time in a regular muffin tin and they were hard to get out.0 -

Yes egg whites are better than a whole egg. The yellow part of the egg is where the cholesterol comes from so its better to use 2 egg whites and 1 whole egg, rather than using 3 whole eggs. Its a simple way to cut down on cholesterol. Starting your day off with a good amount of protein is going to be MUCH better for your body than just cereal. Cereal is not a good breakfast, it really doesn't matter what kind it is. Cereal does not give your body a good amount of protein. You should honestly be getting an equal amount of carbs and protein in the mornings to get you off to a good start. Too many carbs in the morning (cereal) causes your brain to be foggy and it doesn't give you energy, it can actually cause you to crash and not have any energy. This is why people drink so much coffee, they fill up on carbs then their body crashes so they pump it full of caffeine trying to get going. I try to keep my carbs at breakfast around 24 grams, anymore than that and you will feel sluggish.0 -
oatmeal and sweetened condensed milk that is my thing it keeps me anywhere from 3 to 4 hours full0
-
The yellow part of the egg is where the cholesterol comes from
Which is only a problem if you have a problem with cholesterol to start with. The average person doesn't need to avoid egg yolks and that's where most of the nutrients are. At 70 calories you won't get a much better food than eggs.0
