My oldest daughter is 13. We agreed this would be the last year.

    I think I stopped around 13 or 14.

    I stopped at age 16.
  • Like, 17, I think.
Although I have gone a few times since then with my nephew. I dress up, but don't actually ask for candy, but sometimes it is offered anyways.

I stopped trick or treating because there were some decent parties to go to.

But then I resumed again in College because my aunts asked me to chaperone their kids. Now those kids are ready to chaperone my kids.

14 was the last year I went. Even then, I felt too old and kind of pathetic for it.

Stopped at like 14 and then went once more when I was 17. I think a lot of kids do this now. They go through a 1 or 2 year phase where they think they're too old for it, and then it hits them that they're not actually too old but they will be soon if they don't start dressing up and getting out there!

I was 16 - it was ridiculous... :( I can buy my own candy but that is not the same as getting free candy ...:indifferent:
  • To be honest, after about 11 or 12 or so, I didn't go trick-or-treating for the candy. I went trick-or-treating just as an excuse to have an awesome costume and show that costume off to people. I would still go trick or treating now just to ring peoples' doors and say "HEY LOOK AT HOW GREAT MY COSTUME IS." But I have been deemed "too old" to go trick-or-treating now. Bummer.

Never went trick or treating as a kid. Halloween wasn't important in our house.

Never. No age limit. You see parents with babies out every Halloween. That kid doesn't have teeth, you are trick or treating for you! Stop lying.

I think I was 13 when I stopped...but then I started again when I was 24 and my daughter turned 1...being trick-or-treating ever since. This is the first year in a long time that I won't be dressed up, though. I had my Halloween this past Friday when I dressed up as Magenta for a live showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

ETA: and still, every year the *kitten* tamper with the Reese's; so I have to test them for my kids to make sure they're safe. But you know, it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make for my munchkins

Never. I have much younger siblings, so before the age where I should have stopped, I tagged along with them. Now I dress up and walk with them :)

Edited to add story: I was 15 the last time I went with my own friends, and we made up a Halloween song. We went caroling! And we got sooooo much candy

My son is 13, but very small for his age...I think he can get away with it for a few more years.
  • 17, but I look very young for my age.

    Probably 12-13.

I like the parties we can go to now, as adults, though :)

Last year was age 12. Mom said teenagers are too old.

We get plenty of teenagers at our door, though.
