Sandy

Not about weight loss..sorry...Just a short message of support for the people on the east coast dealing with the hardships of Hurricane Sandy. Living on the Gulf Coast we know what they have to go thru for days to come and we wish them a safe speedy recovery.

I am in Connecticut - things along the coast in this state are pretty bad - I live closer to Boston so the weather at my house was not as bad as it was in other parts of the state. There is additional flooding expected to occur along the coast as well as all the power lines down and submerged under the water. Lots of work to do but thank God I was spared - so many others were not. Continue to send your prayers and thank you for the support.

THanks -- we still have no power & are being told it may not be back on until Mon-Tues next week. The stores & gas stations have no power either, so that's not too great. We plan on eating a lot of canned goods the next few days & going to bed at 8:30, since it is too dark to see. We get about 1 1/2 hour of generator at night, so we can warm up the house (electrical baseboards, how I miss oil heat) & get the well pumps running to flush the toilets (yup, no electricity, no pump means no water). But we were able to prepare and are coping - nowhere near as bad as others, so we are lucky. still it would be nice to have power.....

Yes, been thru this more than once! Kids would get antsy so we played lots of board games and cards by lantern light and cleaned up the mess by day.. Kids once told me they liked it... it was like camping!!! lol Seriously, I know y'all are suffering and it has been a hard time but it will get back to normal. Hang in there, Texas has sent lineman as I am sure other states have and we are keeping you all in thoughts and prayers and sending what we can. Good Luck!

I can attest to the significant damage done by this hurricane. If you are looking for ways to help you can make a donation to Mercury One Disaster Relief fund, where all the money goes to disaster relief.
