Lost the weight, now what to implant or not to implant?

  • Personal opinion, I have never liked how the "fake" ones look...they just LOOK fake. My hubby made a comment about my girls deflating but, I have come to the realization that if they go, then they go. I have been blessed to have decent boobs (D cup) for awhile and while I know I will miss them when they are gone, I would not get fake ones.

I would, on the other hand, get a lift if I could. nothing fake in there, just a little nip and tuck to put them where they are supposed to be again (Nursing can really cause some issues...LOL).

Most women or even men on here  see the changes in your body with the weight loss. Well sometimes it comes off in places not so favorable. I still have my thunder thighs... but my cup size has decreased by almost 2 cups. So the question is breast implants or stay natural? My reason would be to feel good in my own skin when I undress to take a shower and be proud of what I've accomplished without saying ugh... where did they go and I had such bigger ones when I was heavy. Anyhow thoughts on this and has anyone got them since losing the weight?

I feel for you hun, I am not even at goal and mine have gone down a cup size already :( Thankfully I started at a D so I am hoping the C is the lowest I will go lol My friends don't understand, but when I was heavier, my girls were part of my identity, I wasn't comfortable with any other part of my bod but the boobies and they were always out and proud when I hit the town. now not so much lol I am hoping they will at least stay proportionate to my body and not get too small. I come from a big Italian family with lots of boobs to go around, so fingers crossed they stay! lol

I think you need to decide what will you can live with. I never thought about it because like I said, they have always been big but I never realized they could be gone too! If you think this will help you feel better and feel good about yourself, I would say what is the harm in looking into it? It would suck to reach all your goals and then have this to hold you back from feeling wonderful! Just don't go too big for your bod :0) Not good haha
  • My bf doesn't exactly love that mine have started to shrink, but he used to be a bouncer at a strip club-he's begged me to never get implants unless i really, really have to. he says natural always looks the best.

honestly, i don't think i could do it to myself. one, i'm just now starting to look in the mirror and not see a blob of disgustingness staring back. i wouldn't want to ruin the way i look at me, let alone how anyone else does. two, transplant surgery hurt enough, and they took OUT a kidney. i can't imagine how bad it would hurt to put something IN. three, my chest wasn't always a 40DD, so i'll get used to smaller.

all that said, do whatever makes you the happiest-as long as you research everything. an informed patient is a happy patient

I say rock the look you want, just stay with the shape of your body. Yes all men like boobs period(guilty). I tell that Vaser Laser Lipo is super intriguing for many reasons. You can go in at lunch get a local and man it works wonders. I think Im gonna do the jaw line and neck. I like that fact the recovery is quick a safer than traditional lipo!

I'm seriously considering implants. If they were just small, I would deal with it, but after three kids and going up and down, mine look like deflated balloons. I just want them to look normal, not looking for huge, just put them back where they belong and fill them back in. Wish they had a pump for that.
Exactly ^^^ lol. I have no complaints from the partner. I just want them up where they should be, not porn style lol.

I agree with both of you!! Same here!! Nice and full with what skin I have now not stretch it out porn star like!!

Fake boobs look AWFUL!!! Keep them natural!!! If you feel you need a lift then get a lift but do not put an ugly water balloon in your body!!

Having been flat like a 12 year old boy my whole life .. being thin and athletic .. I treated myself on my 30th birthday to boobs .. because I was enamored with the HUGE ones I had while nursing my son! Holy shiznit .. I was GINORMOUS .. went from a AA (basically never wearing a bra because there was nothing but holes and divots there .. to 36 DD. Sadly .. they shriveled back up to AA after I was done nursing .. took about 18 months and no more.

I'm 46 now .. and have had them 16 years .. and to be honest .. I look great in clothes .. but I friggin HATE how they feel. And I had cute little nipples before .. and after they became sand dollars ... yuck (in my opinion) .. *sigh*

Now ... lingerie and petite clothing fit wonderfully (I'm a 34B .. or C depending on bra style) .. but nekkid .. pfft .. no scarring .. but I just don't like 'em. Hugging is weird .. they don't move out of the way and squish like natural breasts do. And they were like that from the beginning when I got them.

I'm half considering getting rid of them .. going back to my flat chested self .. I'm single .. and would love to meet someone, but I'm almost too nervous to anymore because of them .. feel like they would be a disappointment.

Stay natural .. and love yourself! :flowerforyou:

Thank you!! I have also been debating implants. It is nice to actually hear how they feel, I have always wondered that. I personally have always wanted to be in proportion and never have been. Now with kids and weight it just got worse. I am leaning more toward the natural part of things these days. Hubby likes them the way they are and there isn't anything a good push up bra won't fix it.

    Natural for the win.
I've seen too many of those shows that highlight the horrible things that can go wrong with implants.
Plus I've always thought implants were ugly and unnecessary.

Agree with this statement..............I prefer natural and flawed over fake and perfect anyday.

I'm personally against all cosmetic surgeries unless there's a reason like your nose was broken, so it needed fixed, or you lost your breasts to cancer. However, I don't look down on anyone who does get them. To each their own. If you think you'd be happier, go for it! Your happiness is all that matters with your body. :flowerforyou:

I wouldn't be happy knowing I lost all this weight to feel good in my own body only to change it again with a knife and plastic!

I've always been small chested, grew to love it while my DD friends have back problems, bra problems, etc.
  • My husband offered to have mine done once I hit my goal weight ... Incentive woohoo
  • Hmm..I would only get breast implants if the rest of my body was perfect. Otherwise, I would work on making it perfect before I decided that my boobs were the only issue.

Let them be a reward for keeping the weight off for 5 years. If you still want them then, then go for it. It will also be something to motivate you to not put the weight back on.....

    I agree with this.

I haven't lost any weight that i know of yet, being I only weigh in once a month, but I would be happy to lose a cup or two.

Implants are a personal decision. Some people prefer them, some done. Personally I don't believe in implants. HOwever, my sister is considering reductions, whcih makes sense because too big of boobs could mess up your back.
I'm considering a D or DD cup. I'm 5'3" but not a small or petite frame.

    I'm 5'3" and a DD. They suck. Have you considered a C or even a full B?

I heard that you have to replace them every 10 years? I may be wrong though. I would LOVE implants since now alls that is left is flapjacks and I still have around 50+lbs to lose! Oh I do not like that mental picture at all. On another hand, I think I do want a tummy tuck if I can't lose this "mother's apron".

    We'll see...
  • I weight 250 and I have B I want them already and I will get them when I finish school! I want at least a C there is no fun being flat chested I play around with wonder Bras all the time and my old boyfriend use to always make fun of me I at least need a hand full I say go for it there is nothing wrong with one everyone that I know that has one loves them :)

I think it looks way too fake..I wouldn't do it, but if it makes you feel better, do what you need to.

I had pretty small boobs before I put on weight, but I didn't despise it and I would nearly rather it than being fatter. Actually, I will never complain about my small boobs again as long as I don't have to feel fat, at least I was comfortable back then :'(

I think fake ones REALLY stand out (not in a good way) if you are too slim.

Thank you for sharing this. I've always been small and the only boost I've gotten is from the weight gain. My new husband has never known me at an appropriate weight and I worry he's not gonna be so thrilled with that portion once it all goes back to what God gave me before the fat filled them in. Your experience reminds me that I'm just fine how I am, however it turns out. Thank you for that.

I'm lucky that I didn't get so large that I'll be left with excess skin, etc. I think if I had I'd consider at the least, a lift. So I'm not totally opposed to plastic surgery under the right conditions. But I"m glad to hear from someone who has augmented and shares the downsides of it.

Oh dear. Don't buy into what other people tell you is attractive.

You should feel comfortable in your own skin because it's YOURS, not because it fits some random marketeer's idea of what's beautiful. If you don't (and you have zero reason not to love your body like crazy), then this is not a physical issue, it's a mental issue. Save your money.

AND don't forget that it takes years and years to feel like "yourself" in your new body. Mentally, you're still you at a larger size. Perhaps you consoled yourself with the idea that, "I may be big, but at least I've got big boobs." You don't need to console yourself anymore. Your body is different. Women who look like Barbie because they're tiny and have gotten implants look ridiculous, and everybody can see it but them. If you don't give your brain time to catch up with your new physical reality before you go under the knife, you'll regret it.

Disagree with this. Believe it or not, but not everybody who alters their appearance does it to please others or fit into media standards. Everyone has their own perception of whats beautiful. Wanting implants definetly does not mean someone has a mental issue, thats just rude imo.

Personally I wouldn't get implants 'cos I think they look and feel fake (and I don't like the thought of semi-permenant stuff inside my body). I agree with those saying 'love what you've got'. Also, I encourage folks to get a real idea of what women's bodies look like - after having children, losing lots of weight, aging etc, our bodies change. That's normal and usually healthy. We shouldn't expect ourselves not to change.

I'd also agree with those saying 'take time to get used to the new you before making any decisions'!

I've got down from a C/D cup to a B and I'm just fine with that. I'd rather be a bit smaller all over rather than being chubby with bigger boobs like I was.

Agree. OP it is obviously your decision, but I think you'll find a D or DD to be too large on your now, smaller frame. What was your cup size before? Band size? I am also 5'3" and at my heaviest (160-170) I was a 38D or DD, depending on bra. They were huge. While reading this thread, I realized I no longer have to take my hand to the side of them and move them in, to get them out of the way so I can get my arms comfortably to my side while sitting. They felt "in the way" then. So I think a C would be a nice natural size for you.. in my opinion (I've come down to I'd guess a 36D currently, but think I'm about to go back down to the 36C I was when I was thinner)

Agreed ... I certainly did it only for myself .. not what some man wanted or others thought of me. I was personally tired of not fitting properly into business attire .. or lingerie. Nothing worse than putting something on and where boobs are supposed to be is a bunch of fabric all smooshed up.. I always wondered why on Earth do manufacturers assume that every 5'4 or smaller person has huge boobs? .. It gets expensive taking stuff to the cleaners/ seamstresses to have that area taken in with 50% of your clothing articles.

I had absolutely nothing .. nothing to push-up .. kinda pointless.

Just to add my two cents, I've had implants put in and haven't looked back since! At 19 everyone said I was far too young and was being silly, but I saved up the money and spent a LOT of time researching my surgeon. When I went through with it I couldn't have felt as though I was in safer hands and I honestly wish I'd done it sooner! My confidence has gone through the roof and I'm so much happier with my body now!

Glad that men are considering these things as well. Just in case I hadn't stressed this... I love myself for who I am and what I am, just simply want to enhance my look. :)

Really? I've had mine 16 years .. I have not heard anything about multiple surgeries. I'm not arguing that, just never knew about that. My surgeon never mentioned anything like that to me.

Although. .. I can understand .. I'm certainly rethinking the whole boob thing anyway. To me .. it's truly no longer worth it. I felt good about it for a short time .. but I never came to terms with how the felt. And some of the comments I got from my husband (divorced now) and boyfriend. They don't feel normal to them either. I have confidence in myself as a human being. I don't need to look like a movie star with Kim Kardashian boobs. I like who I am .. and that's what matters most!

Originally went in for a D, then had spoke to a few of my friends and family that have DD. Yes I definately don't want back issues down the road. But that is what this thread is for to find out the pro's and con's. Lots of good info.

I'm pretty average size and never gained a ton of weight so I don't have a sagging issue. I'd always wanted to be a little bit bustier but I already have 2 autoimmune diseases so I'd be scared to have them. I like being able to exercise without wearing those heavy duty sports bras. My tiny best friend had implants put in at 46. She's probably 5'1 and 105 lbs. She went from a 32B to 32DD and its honestly makes her look ridiculous in clothes and a bathing suit but its her body!
