This one sounds rediculous, but it's really good:

While dieting, I find the healthiest BBQ Sauce I can, and skip the oil. We just grill them in a non-stick pan until they firm up. In all honesty though, they are much better when using the oil, if you have the points to spare.

This is my own take on tuna salad with veggies, I just used what I had on hand. You could also use bell peppers, red onion, broccoli, etc. 325 cal for the items below.

Trader Joe's - Organic Pasta Vegetable Radiatore, 0.5 cup dry
Starkist - Chunk Light Tuna (In Water) 112 g
Cucumber - Peeled, raw, 1 cup, pared, chopped
    Radishes - Raw, 2 small
Trader Joe's - Trader Giotto's Sicilian Selezion Extra Virgin Olive Oil, 0.5 tbsp
Trader Giottos- Trader Joes - White Balsamic Vinegar, 2 tbsp
    Gulden's - Spicy Brown Mustard., 1 tsp

Mix together and make patties. Cook in skillet. I ended up eating 1.5 or 2 of them. Husband suggested that I cook the onions first.

    Asian Tuna Salad

    1 can water packed tuna
1 cup frozen baby green peas, thawed but not cooked
    1/2 cup finely diced celery
    1/2 cup finely diced carrots
    1/2 cup cashews
1/2 cup chow mein (mien?) noodles
2 TBS sour cream (can use low fat if you want to)

Mix together and serve over shredded cabbage
  • I made this for lunch today. It was really good, only 264 calories, 8 carbs, 12 fat, 4 sugar, and 177 sodium, but packs a whopping 34 protein. Nice! I just ate it as-is, mixed well in a bowl, but I think it would be amazing on some water crackers... I just didn't happen to have any on hand. :ohwell: Anyway, I've dubbed it, "Confetti Tuna Salad".

Bumble Bee - Very Low Sodium *Gold Can* Prime Fillet Solid White Albacore Tuna In Water, 1 container (4 oz draineds ea.)
Celery - Raw, 0.25 cup chopped
Tomatoes - Red, ripe, raw, year round average, 0.5 cup, chopped or sliced
Cabbage - Red, raw, 0.5 cup, chopped
Kraft - Real Mayonnaise, 1 tbsp

    Dill-Pepperoncini Tuna Salad
Recipe from the New York Times Magazine 9/5/04

    Yield: About 2 cups.

10 to 12 ounces good-quality solid tuna packed in olive oil, well drained*
2 scallions washed, trimmed and chopped fine
6 pepperoncini peppers, destemmed and julienned
    3 tablespoons chopped fresh dill
1/4 cup roasted or smoked almonds, chopped roughly, or a small handful toasted pine nuts
1/4 cup good-quality olive oil (or the oil the tuna was packed in)
    1 tablespoon smooth Dijon mustard
    1 tablespoon whole-grain mustard
    1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice or more to taste
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper.

Mix all the ingredients well with a fork in a medium-size, nonreactive bowl. Taste and adjust the lemon juice and pepper. The salad can be made up to 3 days in advance and refrigerated.

    I like these simple recipes...

2 Cans tuna (Standard UK cans, about 180g drained)
    1 Can sweetcorn
    200g Passata
    125g Ricotta Cheese
100g Pasta (Dry weight) cooked according to instructions

Warm the passata in a saucepan.
Add in the tuna and sweetcorn and let the passata cook down until desired consistency.
Stir in the ricotta and pasta. Serves 2 good portions.
    Non nom nom!

    Alternatively try
2 Cans tuna (Standard UK cans, about 180g drained)
    1 Can sweetcorn
    200g Passata
    Curry Paste

Throw it all in a pot and cook until thick, serve with rice or a Naan or chapatis.

    Salad Nicoise. Google it.
  • 1oz Greek yogurt
    Some bell pepper
    Avocado
and a 2 Teaspoons of spicy mustard.

^ Love this recipe post!! Clean, healthy fats (avacado) & love the addition of fiber (green pepper) - GREAT recipe!!! Thanks :]
  • I make the Tuna Burgers that one of the posters above does. Soooo yummy! We always just called them Tuna Patties....and ate with a side of mac and cheese and green beans. Probably one of my all-time favorite foods!! Another thing I do: One can of tuna (drained), one can of green beans (drained), mix together. Too simple, but so good! I used to take that to work and it was beyond simple and I love the taste of the two mixed together. I know people that add ketchup or salt and pepper too.
  • i make my own version of Whole Foods cranberry tuna that they serve in their deli. It is easy and yummy. You could eat it in a lettuce wrap or as a sandwich, but i usually just eat it as a salad.

1 can chunk light tuna in water
    1/3 cup dried cranberries
1 TBS Hellman's lowfat may with Olive Oil
    Onion powder to taste
1 tsp of lemon juice (or a little more if you prefer - no calories!)
