There are a lot of great Yoga DVDs. It all depends on what you want to work on most.
Not a one of them will burn enough calories to help you lose weight.0 -
The P90X Yoga DVD is amazing! I think Tony Horton has a single DVD too:
http://www.amazon.com/Tony-Horton-Beachbody-Kino-Awaken/dp/B000BK670Q/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1351985403&sr=8-1&keywords=Tony+Horton+yoga
I've not done this one, but heard it's really good.
Try these too:

P90X Yoga is much harder, but see how you feel with them.0 -

Not true.
Just do a You Tube for Power Yoga and look for those by Rodney Yee and particularly this one which I use regularly for a good cardiac and strength session:

Don't worry - these will burn enough calories to help you lose weight! Enjoy.0 -

With all due respect, I believe it is true. Yoga will not help you lose weight, at least according to the research presented in William Broad's "The Science of Yoga."
Yoga, it seems, relaxes you and, therefore, slows metabolism rather than increasing it. As such, it is not a very effective weight loss technique.
On the other hand, it is a physical activity that requires some energy and it relieves stress, which may help control some stress-related eating.
Still, yoga can make you feel great and stronger and more limber.0 -
I disagree that yoga won't help you lose weight. All I do is yoga and Pilates and I have lost almost 30 lb, and have been maintaining my goal weight since May.
Here are the DVDs I use.

thanks for the responses! even if I don't lose a huge amount of weight, I shouldn't have put it like that really, I'm more wanting to tone up the last wobbly bits and heard it was great to do yoga for this! So I just wanted a home DVD that I could start with because I dare say I have absolutely no strength to do more advanced stuff and I just want to be able to start off and progress. My aim to be honest would to be able to do the 'scorpion' and have total body strength! It looks awesome! It's just a new challenge of mine so if there is other things I need to do as well as yoga to be able to achieve this let me know0

Yoga isn't just sitting and stretching, you know. Clearly you haven't done any intense vinyasa yoga like P90X Yoga, otherwise you would be eating your words and entering them into your Diary today.0 -

I love the site yogatoday! The have one free class a week, you can download classes for much cheaper than a DVD, or get unlimited streaming for like $10/month. They did a weightloss series earlier this year, but there is plenty on there to help tone/get stronger.

Come along to my Vinyasana Yoga class one time and when you are sitting in your own pool of sweat we will compare notes! There are many types of yoga out there - difficult to make a judgement really.0
