The lamest NSV ever

This morning I was mixing up tuna for my lunches for the rest of the week. Once I was finished I had a spoon with mayo on it. In days past I would clean the spoon by eating the mayo.

I turned on the faucett and washed off the spoon before putting it in the dishwasher...

A bit confused, if you washed the spoon off then why do you need to put it in the dishwasher?

But hey you saved yourself 100 calories for the day!

Germs. Dishwashers don't clean anything, but boy do they sterilize!

I would be consuming calories needlessly. The mayo is needed for the tuna but not for just simple eating.

Nothing wrong with that, buddy! Everyone's NSVs are different, and this one is yours. Congrats on it!

what you should have done is flicked it onto the floor and then burned an extra 10calories cleaning it up!

Seriously though, a battle is won with many small victories.

Lifestyle changes happen just like this! GREAT job! And excellent job noticing that you did it! I still have to fight mentally to resist sometimes, haha. Like it's 'wasting' food or something, right? I totally hear you!

    Excellent!

I swear one reason mom's don't lose their post-pregnancy weight is that we all clean off our kid's plates because it's a shame to throw away good food.
  • WTG. That's not lame. I still lick the spoon-- but, not mayo. PB for sure.
  • Oh, and cake batter. ha.

I don't eat off my kid's plate! She's almost 3 and I don't want anything she's poked, prodded, and possibly licked.

Those calories don't count because the cake isn't baked yet! ;)

That is great! Its a victory! I like it. I have been giving the dogs my last bite of sandwich, eggs, etc. Was having a skinny cow ice cream and didn't really like it all that much so gave rest to my daughter. I still count the calories. Hey, I am full and they enjoy it. Better than me eating more when I am not hungry!

Every little bit helps! Give yourself kudos for everything! Why not?

That's not lame. I've got you beat anyway (in terms of sheer goofiness, that is)--I totally got excited the other day because I took a couple of drinks of diet dr pepper and thought, "man, I wish I had some water."

I drink lots of water, but don't touch my Diet Dr. Pepper
