today will be week 1 day 2 for me. Day 1 was hard and I skipped 2 of the "jogging" parts. Hoping to make it the right way today. What pace are you guys doing during each section? just out of curiosity. I am walking at 3.0 and jogging at 4.4. I know that's not fast or anything, but I have short legs and am a beginner, so I'm not trying to sprint or anything.
Just started W1 day 1 today, but I think I had a bit of a headstart as I've been doing intervals for a few weeks now and using primarily the treadmill (with a steep incline) for my cardio. Today, I used 3.3 as my walking pace and 4.5 as my jogging pace (and I'm 4'11" so I know what you mean by short legs). I've gone as high as 5.5 with intervals in the past, but I want to be able to pace myself and not go for speed so much, so I think i'll push my running pace to 4.8 tomorrow. Made it through the workout just fine and would have done it again right away if time permitted. When I 1st started doing intervals, my biggest problem was being out of breath, now my problem is the burn i feel in my legs (although that may be due to the 30DS I also do lol).
Anyway, I'm in for the challenge and will post/update daily! Tomorrow is W1 D2 for me! Let's do this, everyone!!!!0 -
being out of breath is my biggest problem too. I try to really focus on proper breathing, but i'm so out of shape I know its just something I'll have to keep doing and it'll get better. I think I'm going to do some of my turbo jam dvd's too, to incorporate more cardio.0

WooHoo !! I just completed C25K Week 1 Day 3.... I feel great. That also counts toward one of my weeks mini goals !! Thanks everyone for the encouragement. If I can do it anyone can. Other than my legs feeling like two 500 lb tree trunks, I find my biggest problem is my mind trying to tell me I can't do it. But I proved it wrong this week. I DID IT !!0

awesome! Im going to try W2D1 tomorrow morning, and Im reaaally excited. To me it feels a bit like Christmas everytime I finish another day, I feel like a kid unwrapping a present I really wished for haha
My thighs feel a bit heavier after the workout, but it lasts like 8hours and it's over, I think that's okay.0 -

I did week 4 day 1 today. I took a week off last week because I had a little surgical procedure so when I started this week I repeated w3d3.
I find that no matter what week or day I am on the first run is the hardest. The rest seem so much easier. I think my brain has figured out that my lungs aren't going to leap out of my chest. :-)0 -
I just finished week 1! Tonight was the first time my legs actually felt it, but my breathing was a little better. Lookin forward to week2!0

I did week 1! Woooo. And survived. All that starting and quitting made a difference because I was actually about to make it all the way through without dying. Really excited for week 2. I'm going to kick major butt. My friend is thinking of starting the program though so I might be an awesome friend and redo week 1 so we can do it together.0

oh man, W2D1 was tougher than I thought!
I did the whole thing, even was able to run for exactly 120sec on the last run, but yes, it seems to be a lot harder than week 1. My advice for everyone here: Slow down your pace a tiny bit!0 -

I hear you.....I stressed out about it too, thought I would not be able to do 20 minutes......... I went slow (run slow anyway), had some music on my iphone and had this little mantra in my head (in sync with my stride....) 'I can do this'. I also took a route that had almost no hills/slopes because I usually have a few mini slopes when I run through the conservancy. Yesterday for w6 day 1 I did my 'normal' route. For some reason halfway through yesterday I felt like I could not keep going for about two or 3 minutes and had to 'talk myself through'. It was later in the day, almost dark - got out late from work and was a bit stressed so I was a bit off anyway. I did finish though and will go for the Turkey Trot, 5 k tomorrow :ohwell:0 -

I did week 2 day 2 last night. I was really feeling it. I made it through though. I think a lot of it had to do with my diet the last 2 days...very little water or good nutrition...I need to get that back on track.0

i took 6 days off because I was getting like no sleep (most was 3 hours/night), but today I made it and did W2D2 and even got to run for 2:25 instead of 1:30 for my last run. That last run was exactly 500m/.3mi and I'm damn proud because never thought I'd be able to do so

I did C25K through week 6 or 7 last spring, and recently got back into running. I'm only doing about 2 slow miles a run, but I'd like to get into the habit of running 4-5 miles a few times a week. It's pretty amazing how before starting the program I couldn't run for more than 2 minutes, but even after stopping for a few months I can still run a mile! So even if you fall off the wagon, you'll be starting from a better place once you get back on again.0

I have been doing c25k for four weeks now. I'm using the treadmill becasue I run at 5 or 5:30 in the morning and it's still dark. I just completed week 3 for the second time and I'm a little neverous about week 4. So I think I'm gonna try a mix between week 3 and 4. Run a little longer but not as much as wk 4. What is everyone doing on there rest days?0

Just finished week 1! I was actually really proud of the minor short term results. My heart rate the first day maxed at 173, the second it maxed at 166, and today it maxed at 162. I'm really thankful that I am very adaptive to exercise
